What's your ocean reel of choice?

I'm looking into gettin a new/used reel to ocean fishing off a man made rock pier, and I'm looking for ideas or comments on what is good and what is not. What exactly should I look for in a reel? Any line suggestions?

Choice? All I've ever had was a Pen10 which barely qualifies.
I own a few smaller Shimano spinning reels, and they are pretty dang nice.
But they are also 20 years old or more.
I'll bet the new ones have synthetic diamond bearings and titanium spindles.

And probably bluetooth. ;)

Never fished the ocean but always had good luck with Shimano, Quantum, Garcia and Shakespeare reels.

That looks like you’re well set up Jimmy.

As a kid I never had access to anything but shore fishing, and so when I grew up and bought a boat I didn’t look back.

I don’t think I have been shore fishing one time since.

But the truth is, I have come to love the boating even more than the fishing.

The only boats I liked were about 300 ft long and submerged
