Could not pass it up for $160.

Going to make for an interesting project gun. I haven't frankensteined anything in a while. LOL

Will post more info when I get it already have a few things I want to do to it (max extension, etc) but will need to check compatability on some things as well as check general function & reliability.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out for you.

About 2 years ago, I was able to pick up one of the Emperor Arms turkish semiauto and it's turned into one of my favorite shotguns. Granted that I have tinkered around with the one I have to make it mine.

What do you think that you're going to want to do to it?

Myself, I made an aluminum follower for mine and removed the plastic OEM follower. I added an extended magazine. Though, I had to make a short shim to take up the extra space which tensioned against the front of the handguard which keeps it in place. But that was simple.

I drilled and tapped the receiver to put a rail and a red dot on it (it shoots like a laser too).

I also swapped the mainspring/action spring too. The one that was in it seemed a little soft and the bolt would batter into the rear of the receiver when shooting high brass. But when I put the Charles Daly maximag spring in it, that resolved it. Low brass still shoots, but lazily pukes out and lands about 3 feet away. High brass gets about 8 feet. The battering seems to have ceased.

My youngest son has laid claim to it and has shot more than a case of shells through it.

Tentatve plans:
-Mag extension
-Ream and thread for choke tubes.
-Machine a little off the bottem for faster loading.
-side sadle shell carrier
-single point sling
-light
-off putting paint job

If its compatable with any parts I have it will cost me $0.00 to make the listed upgrades.

Will definitely have to check barrel wall thickness before I ream it for tubes. Hopefully they didn't skimp on the barrel.

I dont own any safe queens but I thought it would be cool just to build a zombie killer fun gun that i dont care about beating up.

Expectations arent high for the cost but hoping it will surprise me.

Kind of excited, been a long time since I had a 'just for fun' gun project.

I wonder if my 930 tri rail forend will fit.....

Is it a "knock-off" of any particular gun? (ie: parts exchangability)

From what I can find its a knock off of a Weatherby SA-08. I am not familiar with Weatherby's.

Awesome.

I'd be very shocked if the barrel is too thin to thread. And I know that you won't have any problem if it can be. So, being able to use Mossberg/Winchester/Other brand choke tubes will be very convenient for you and inexpensive to get a cylinder, modified and full at least. If not even adding an XXfull turkey choke in for good measure. If you have those chokes, there's not much the shotgun won't be able to do.

Light and sling, again won't be any problem. Sponge paint. Easy check.

I'm not sure what you're referring to about shaving it off to make it faster to reload. But, I'm very interested in hearing more about that.

You'll just need to check the mag extension. I was lucky that the one I had fit, other than needing to make the shim to tension against the handguard to tighten it down better. Otherwise, the handguard was loose. But, if that's the case for you, just let me know the size you need made. If you need a shim made, if I can make it, I will.

Here's a few pics to show you what I mean, but I'm not sure if the gun you're getting will be similar or not? Too hard to tell from the pics.

You see the silver ring between the mag extension and the handguard? That's what I was referring to. My mag extension wasn't threaded deep enough to tension the handguard down, so I made the shim. Now it's snug as a bug in a rug.

metal follower (did I mention I hate plastic followers?):

Here's the maximag spring in it. The CD Maximag is chambered for 3-1/2" shells. So, it had plenty of tension, though you may not need to do that. You'll just have to shoot it and see.

This is before I tapped the receiver for a mount and put a red dot on it, but you get the jist of it.

Well, it is your gun. That seems a bit excessive though. I never had a problem loading it the way it's made.

I do think the guy in the video I posted cut away to much material but I see that mod a lot, esp in competition guns.

I'll see how it goes. Nothing is set in stone.

My 930 was a finger eating beast until I installed the SKY Tactical lifter.

I've never got my thumb hung in my emporer, or the old charles daly maximag that I had. But, I wouldn't want to either.

I'd shoot the gun a little while before deciding whether it needs any material removed or not.? But you can make that decision for yourself. You're the one that needs to be happy with it.

I never did with my 870 even after over 10k rounds. The 930 has a cutout the appears to be specifically designed to grab a finger joint. LOL

I picked it up. First impression is good. Its very light.

The front sight is soldered on and not threaded like a bead. This is perfect for adding tubes; beads never stay in once you cut away some if the barrel thickness.

I has a separate lever to hold the bolt back. I've never shot a gun with this feature so I will have to see how it goes.

It is not drilled and tapoed for a rail or optics. Not an issue, just noting.

I like the machining on the top if the receiver. And I like the shape of the bolt handle.

Now for the gun porn...

Wow. Imported from a place in London, KY.

Dude, that's almost in my back yard.

Though, until just now, I had never heard of them before.

The charging handle, and the type of rear handguard retainer, the style of laser engraving, all looks like my Emporer Arms. And I'll note that the front sight on that barrel is also soldered. But mine is not very straight, I would add. And why I drilled and tapped it for a rail and put a red dot on it. But that's easy enough to fix with a small #6-48 tap, and 15 minutes of your day.

If your front sight is straight and it shoots pretty close to your point of aim, it looks wide and tall enough that you could drill it out and put a fiber optic sight in it. Especially if you made a groove in the top to allow more light in.

Cosmetically with the receiver cuts, yours is certainly fancier in that regard than mine. Mine is the typical rounded smooth top.

Having a soldered front sight should make it easy to thread for chokes. Very similar to the 870 as I'm sure you're aware. The barrel looks plenty thick enough to ream and thread. Which will make it even more handy for hunting. The older I get, the happier I am with lighter shorter scatterguns. Especially in semi since the action spring seems to absorb some of the recoil. Semi's just feel softer shooting to me than pumps, and especially single shots.

Have you looked under the forend to see how it looks? I'm curious if it's chromed and is similar to the one we have.

I also noticed in one of the pictures above, the shape of the receiver doesn't look like it would eat fingers and thumbs either. But, only shooting it for a little while will be able to tell that for sure.

@John A.

Internals arent bad. There is a threaded nut holding the barrel on place that is separate from the end cap which I've never seen before .

As per the manufacterer I should run a box if high brass through it to break it in. I think I can handle that. I'll clean it, oil it and take to camp next time I head up, which may be as soon as next weekend. If I have time I'll ream and tap it for tubes this week

Overall, just based on appearances its a nice gun for the price Makes me want to order snother. We shall see how it shoots
