2018 Assault Weapon Ban Bill Introduced.

Well, at least they threw in the kitchen sink with it.

Looks like just about every semiautomatic pistol, shotgun, or rifle and magazine that is known to man is on their list.

Besides a pdf, which i cant download onto my phone, is there somewhere I can read it?

If any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance is held to be unconstitutional, the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance shall not be affected thereby.

so in other words, they know there will be parts (should be the whole thing) found to be unconstitutional....

Hmmm, just in time for the mid term elections. It's time to start calling congressional members of both parties if you haven't already. Now they have a two pronged attack as well. Attack the NRA and try to stigmatize anyone from taking a donation from them as well.

Again, the left, and they are the ones pushing this, cannot hold the bad guys accountable. But then again, it is my belief if none of these school shootings had occurred they would still be after our guns, just a bit more subtle about it. They see an opportunity here to pray on a tragedy for their own agenda. They do not want the citizenry to object to anything they want to do.

I remember a few years ago, they started putting that "if anything is found unconstitutional" bs stuff in many of their laws so the entire bill isn't overturned and anyone suing the government, common citizens would have to pick it apart piece by piece to stop it.

That's as slimey as it gets from a citizens standpoint. Not much different than a Royal Decree from days of old.

Like it or not, the time is getting closer boys. Piece by piece. Little by little. Bite by bite.

The pressure may not even hold off another generation. They've already invested heavily in this younger generation.

And it's working.

And sadly, we continue to allow it.

In some ways the timing could not be worse for the democrats and the mid term elections. Gun control has always been an election killer for them. It killed Bill Clinton in the mid terms. It helped sink Al Gore and Hillary had it as a prominent part of her platform.

I don't know if you ever saw this but it was leaked years ago...the anti gun playbook...http://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/748675/gun-violencemessaging-guide-pdf-1.pdf

I completely agree that it's getting closer the only oddity I have seen recently have been a few articles from liberal rags lamenting that the current millennial generation is more liberal than their elders on social issues studies are showing they aren't more anti gun. Maybe it's the media pumping them up.

The fallout from something this drastic would have many devastating social repercussions. Some of which make me shudder at the thought.

But one perspective, if this were to pass...can you imagine the damage to your economy? The effects would be immediate and in some cases long lasting.

That list sure looks like an awful lot of lost jobs to me...and people who are out of work have drastically reduced buying power, etc on down the line it goes. Foreclosures, bankruptcies....you name it.

Thanks Mike. I had no not seen that but just now took the time to read through it. It's an action plan without trying to look like one. It is not subtle at all actually. Take away what they call assault rifles, and then the next move will be to take away anything over a .22lr. The fight is never ending and they are relentless.

They , the left, hates the NRA. It's ironic, they hate the donations to candidates from the NRA, yet have no problem with those same folks giving hundreds of millions of tax dollars to planned parenthood to kill future children.

I have came to the conclusion that the left and democrats in general really hate children.

Whatever they can't kill in the womb through planned parenthood, they'll allow schools and playgrounds to be undefended so other people can kill them.

And those children that actually make it to adulthood after going through liberal public education, they make sure to ask for their vote. Where they'll get screwed out of even more rights and protections.

Maybe instead of getting rid of guns we get rid if the criminal empowerment zones where all these mass shootings take place.

The thought occurred to me this morning, what was that Cruz fella thinking as he walked towards the school ? He certainly was not doing what a sane person does. Therein lies the problem I think. He could have had explosives in his back pack. He could have had a bomb strapped to his body, or even some sort of poison. He could have set fire to the school. The gun was not the problem here. The problem was in his mind and his ability to walk into a crowded school with a weapon undeterred.

For the left this is another excuse to take away guns, and I honestly think they will not stop at semi automatic rifles. I can't bring myself to say "assault rifles" since I am fairly certain the military would not go into battle these days without fully automatic weapons.

The system appears to have failed at several levels in this instance. I understand people make mistakes. The mistakes need to be studied and hopefully rectified. It's a tough question, no doubt about it. There will always be people that have bad intentions, unless of course we just keep everyone drugged to the brink of being comatose.

When you think about it, sneaking into a school with two handguns and extra magazines would be much easier. My thoughts are still prevent someone with bad intentions from getting into the school in the first place.

Well, after all of that I have not said anything new, nor have I come up with a solution. I'm sure there are smarter folks than me putting a lot of thought into these problems. I just wish some of them were not politicians trying to make points.

Thank you meanstreak.

You have much more successfully put into words what I have wanted to say going back years.
