2018 Assault Weapon Ban Bill Introduced.

Is anyone worried about a "Friday night special" where they ram through some anti gun law?

Kinda like putting anti 2A bills into the spending bill?

Republicans said a gun background check provision will be tucked into the $1.3 trillion government spending bill as congressional leaders race to finish the deal.
The package will include a version of the "Fix NICS" bill, which would provide funding for states and agencies to comply with the existing National Instant Criminal Background Check system and penalties for those that don't comply. The bipartisan measure stalled in Congress, but lawmakers are anxious for passage after recent school shootings.
Adding the guns provision was among several tentative accords emerging from morning meeting with top congressional leaders, according to aides speaking anonymously because they weren't authorized to discuss ongoing negotiations publicly.
Leaders also tentatively included two tax provisions — a GOP effort to fix part of the recent tax cut law that is harming Midwestern grain companies and a Democratic one strengthening low-income housing tax credits.

Whatever else was snuck into the bill is now law. Trump signed the funding bill, and all that was in the 32000 pages.

They snuck in the Fix Nics bill along with funding gov't research into gun violence. Plus 1.3T deficit addition.

He screwed us on all fronts over gun control. We've literally had more gun control established in 1.25 years than 8 years under Obama.

Snuck is probably not the correct term.

Inserted into is probably a better description.

On a positive note, looks like ol' Rand has recovered from the broken ribs he suffered while cutting his lawn at 5am... ;) "let me feel your bicep!" :D

The Republicans are so afraid of not getting re-elected they are willing to throw their constituents right under the nearest bus.

Here's where I could save the country billions . . . . Every Congressman should have to sign every page of every law that they propose.

In triplicate!!!

Makes you wish some senator would insert a single line of text that says something along the lines of:

anyone voting to criminalize legal rights under the constitution are to be dragged out and hung in the street immediately.

I bet no one would notice until it was too late.

D.C. would certainly be well decorated.

Funny how they never sneak in stuff that doesn't benefit their best interests.

They're trying to Ram through a whole Litany of new gun control nonsense in California.

The thing is of course, no criminals will obey gun control laws, & now that the state will turn us all into criminals ex-post-facto, nobody will want to obey the gun control laws.

Right now the California DOJ is being sued because the assault weapons Registration site wasn't available during a good portion of the time people were attempting to register guns. There were lots of other problems with that registration process as well.

It was basically the same problem they had with Obamacare. The whole business was too big cumbersome and complex and it crashed when people were trying to use it all at the same time.
