I thought I'd try and capture the idiocy being dropped in DC by the democrats. While I don't see any of these passing a republican controlled senate the democrats have been getting more and more open about their real goals. It's sad how long this post is and I didn't even cover half of the proposed anti gun laws.

As you read the proposals, ask yourself if passage of the law will help stop crimes or hurt law abiding gunowners. You already know the answer. You are their enemy. Criminals, not so much.

HR1296. 2019 Assault Weapon Ban. 191 democrats signed onto this.
The bill, one of the most ambitious bans proposed in recent years, would bar the importation, production, or transfer of 205 firearms by name to include a myriad of semi-auto AR-15 and AK-47 variants. Going past that, any semi-auto rifle with a detachable magazine and any “military-style feature” such as a barrel shroud, pistol grip or threaded barrel, would be caught in the net. Even semi-auto rifles with a fixed magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds would be covered by the new ban. Its title as introduced was “To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.”
The Senate version includes the following in addition to the above:
A similar Senate bill, introduced by U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein in January, makes the same case in that chamber and includes a nationwide ban on adjustable stocks, Thordsen-style stocks such as used in “featureless rifles” marketed in states like California, “assault pistols” that weight more than 50 ounces when unloaded, and popular pistol stabilizing braces that have become widespread in recent years. It currently has 28 co-sponsors, none of whom are Republicans.

HR8. All gun transfers require a back ground check. An interesting item from a judiciary committee on this one...republicans tried to amend it to include requiring law enforcement be notified when a check is rejected. The democrats voted that down as it would include illegal aliens. Since NICS was started the top reason for rejects is 7.8 million for illegal alien status. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...umber-of-illegal-immigrants-tried-to-buy-guns
HR8 requires that loans, gifts, and sales of firearms be processed by a gun store. The same fees, paperwork, and permanent record-keeping apply as to buying a new gun from the store. If you loan a gun to a friend without going to the gun store, the penalty is the same as for knowingly selling a gun to a convicted violent felon. Likewise, when the friend returns the gun, another trip to the gun store is necessary, upon pain of felony.

HR1112. The no time limit back ground check. Currently if a back ground check raises a flag but is not rejected the FFL can move the sale forward after 3 days. That would be removed. The FBI could take an undetermined time period and the sale could no go through without their permission. The net effect would be a right becoming a permission based privilege.

HR1297. Reclassify AR/AK pistols. Pistol caliber handguns that can fire armor piercing ammunition will be reclassified to an NFA item.

HR1263. Reclassify all semi automatics that can accept a box magazine. As above, all semi auto's would become NFA items.

HR1266. Reclassify 80% lowers as a "gun" requiring background check. Even more vague is the verbiage... “any combination of parts designed or intended for use in converting any device into a firearm and from which a firearm may be readily assembled”

HR8 Background check bill passed a house judiciary committee yesterday. It is called a bi-partisan and that is accurate. 5 rino republicans voted for it. What should have been a defeat by a vote of 19-16 became a 21-14 victory. The republicans can not be trusted. They had 2 years to pass pro gun laws such as nationwide concealed carry and they sat there with their thumbs up their butts.

WASHINGTON — The House Judiciary Committee passed legislation known as the Bipartisan Background Check Act Thursday that would mandate background checks on all gun sale transactions and most transfers in the United States.

“This is a bill that will expand criminal background checks to close the gun show loophole and close the Internet sale loophole,” Democrat Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries said of the bill.

With the support of five committee Republicans and after nine hours of debate, the bill passed 21 to 14. Republicans on the Committee attempted to amend the bill.

That will only work for new firearms built after the law is enacted and signed. I believe that Trump would sign it in a heartbeat as well. Despite that we all know that the worst criminals would ignore the law in the first place.

Good thing that I already gave all my guns to everyone that I wanted to have them.

@John A. I don’t seem to have received the FN FAL yet, must be in the mail..........

You mean you didn't already get that?

Tracking info said it was delivered on Christmas eve. Better do a thorough check around the mailbox. The wind might have blown it over. Check real close in the weeds. It was in a big brown cardboard box. Had the word "SEMIAUTOMATIC RIFLE" written in big black permanent marker on the front and back of it.

I’ll hafta take a good look around John but I’m pretty sure it ain’t here. Lol!

Back to the op...I think in light of some Repubs supporting this crap and Trump possibly signing off on it, if it suits his needs at the time; you guys need a third party in the mix or some real strong independents.

Times may change but generally speaking people don’t. The same nasty traits often come through no matter what stripe you wear. These types of legislation are hyped as public safety and all about protecting the people. But in truth, only a very few in power are actually that naive. Most are not crusaders for justice. They’re power brokers and it’s consolidation of power and neutering their adversaries that they’re really after. Perception of good will is all that’s required it seems and the masses fall for it hook line and sinker....every damn time. You’d think we’d (educated society) know better by now.

Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice...well you know how this one goes.

I wanted to quote that because there is so much truth in it.

I’m certainly no genius...my wife will confirm this, I can guarantee. :rolleye: But the progressive agenda of the left is blatantly obvious and they as a group, are getting bolder about their true intent. And, it is as plain as the words on this page.

Here in the north, the anti’s are never satisfied with any progress they make to strip away my rights and way of life. They get one step closer with each new piece of legislation to the ultimate end...total disarmament of the population, except police and military. I hear it said just that plain far too often.

Politicians play on the fears and sympathies of the masses and feign concern as they weasel their way through the backrooms of power figuring how to best use our fear, anxiety and grief TO THEIR OWN BENEFIT. Yes, they will use the grief and anguish of families to further an agenda that benefits no one but those in power.

It’s sick. It’s sad. It’s so damn corrupt and bankrupt of morality.

After reading the 3 paragraph article in the link above, please go to this one:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/saphr8hr1112hr_20190225.pdf

The Administration opposes H.R. 8 because it would impose burdensome requirements on certain firearm transactions. H.R. 8 would require that certain transfers, loans, gifts, and sales of firearms be processed by a federally licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer of firearms. H.R. 8 would therefore impose permanent record-keeping requirements and limitless fees on these everyday transactions. H.R. 8 contains very narrow exemptions from these requirements, and these exemptions would not sufficiently protect the Second Amendment right of individuals to keep and bear arms. For example, unless an exemption applies, both the act of leaving a weapon in the temporary care of a neighbor while traveling and the act of later retrieving that weapon would require processing by a licensed entity under H.R. 8. Also, unless such an exemption applies, domestic violence victims would be prohibited from borrowing a firearm for self- defense without first having the transaction go through such a licensed entity. The extensive regulation required by H.R. 8 is incompatible with the Second Amendment’s guarantee of an individual right to keep arms.

There is more at the link above, but that's the jist of it.

PA rep. Brian Fitzpatrick is a rino through and through. He rep's two PA counties that are both suburbs of Philly. The suburbs of Philly and Pittsburgh are loaded with rino's. The people in these areas seem to want republicans that will be fiscally conservative and a libtard on social issues. He is ranked the third most bi-partisan member of the house and is in lockstep with the democrats on gun issues. He is the only republican to get an endorsement from the Gabby Gifford's group. Pathetic.

I would change one thing here. They don't use fear and anxiety, they, with the help of the media create the fear and anxiety. You can add the socialist academics to that as well.

Did anyone hear Trump comment on these bills?
The White House has commented that Trump would veto HR8 or HR1112 if either should somehow get past the Senate.

The democrats obviously know these bills won't become law. I think they are campaigning for the next election cycle.

I will be sure to let my US Senators know where I stand (again and again). I'll also contact the FL ***** (lady nether regions) that voted on it even though I am not a constituent of theirs...

Mike is correct about the next election cycle. 2020 may make or break this country... :( Keep making/buying ammo, my brothers and sisters!
