The local Cabela's / Bass Pro has this one at $1,099.99 and free ship to the store. Sorely tempted, but does this seem like a decent price? They have the Beretta A300 ultima patrol for $50 less.

I've abandoned the idea of a semi-auto. Despite all the advantages, I cannot justify the cost. My $200 pump Maverick 88 will just have to do the job. I just want it for home defense, so I've closed the door an another shottie.

Both tempting, but my first order of biz is to sell the S&W M&P sport [.308/7.62] and several hundred rounds before I even look at semi-auto shotgun. Thanks for the feedback. Panzer seems to be a serious player now.

Regarding the 940 Pro Tactical vs. A300 discussion, both are good options, but if the Maverick 88 currently fulfills all of your needs for home defense, there's no reason to abandon it. Pumps are easy to use, dependable, and inexpensive to maintain. You can always go back to the semi-auto options without feeling pressed for time if the budget starts to make sense.
