About those Electric Cars…

I see that caddman hasn't drank the kook-aid.

Bless his heart, he took the red pill and decided that he liked it. Reminds me of the apple that Eve was munching on.

I don’t like pills and I don’t like mandates. I don’t care whether they come from the red side or the blue side or the rainbow side. They’re all holding hands on the issue of who gets to pay the bills.

J. Q. Public.

We are seeing the kind of ridiculous mis-management of everything the government touches, typical of your communist Chinese regime.

It has been this way my whole life, simply getting worse and worse. I have always voted for a third-party because I knew before I was 18 that the nonsense in Washington was not about red or blue. It’s strictly about gold.

I never had any faith in Donald Trump’s policies. I only voted for him because I thought he was the most entertaining show in the world of boring political certainties.

Trump was a sabot.

Regardless of anything that has happened after this point I am still hoping for a Trump ricochet.

I don’t have any big hopes for the return to a golden age that never really existed nor ever will, but I’m hoping for something more entertaining than boring sleepy Joe and the witches of Capitol Hill.

Anyhow, I built my own electric boat, and I am gathering together parts to build an electric trike for neighborhood use; so don’t you be surprised if I build my own electric car.

But it’ll probably be just a conventional battery and motor deal. I’m not gonna power it by feeding electric eels or anything like that LOL

Looks like those who chose to go green in norway are now regretting their decision.

Electric Vehicle Charging in Oslo, Norway is Now More than Twice as Expensive as Filling Gas-Powered Vehicle

So they can expect a 105% increase in the price of gas to maintain the illusion?? Lol

You're probably not wrong Rodburner. They have to give you an "incentive" to want to change to electric. Which is why so many oil places have been shut down.

You may not know this, but when obama was president, he did the same thing to coal. Pushing the price of their stocks down to pennies on the dollar. Wanna know who scooped in right behind that and bought millions of shares, which so happened to be one of obamas largest donors as well?

I don't believe in coincidences.

Me neither.

Well that’s exactly what they did in California except the price has tripled.

Really, it sextupled since Y2k.

I remember when gas went from one dollar to two dollars here about 1996. I thought paying $40 to fill a Cadillac was bad and now I’m paying $100+ to fill a Toyota. It was $120+!

That was before the Biden midterm election price drop, where gasoline here suddenly went down way over dollar.

EXCEPT, Strangely, it did not actually take affect in Clovis until well after the election, because people here were not buying enough gasoline for the new lower prices to go in.

In Oct, I was paying $6.69.9 for 91 octane and the other day I paid $5.19.9. I even saw 89 octane under four dollars at the cheapo station. But just yesterday I saw it starting to creep up again.

I also see that fewer stations are selling diesel. Particularly the cheapo stations are no longer selling diesel.

I’m somewhat lucky in that I rarely drive, but when I fill up, the prices here are all over the board. I topped off both cars a couple days ago at the local, tribal owned station. It’s a 76 station, so not crap gas. I paid $3.39/gal, which includes the $.48/ gal. Washington gas tax. But there are stations all around here where it’s still high 4s and low 5s. Whatever the market will bear. It’s nuts. Of course we could always jump into the way back machine with Sherman and Mr Peabody to travel back a short 50 years, to 1973, right?B066E344-637F-4003-A852-5675F04AE826.png

In 1973 I was in Utah. I never saw gas lines. By the time I came to CA the lines were all gone. I totally lucked out on that.

The '73 gas shortage seemed almost instantaneous. I went to a league bowling night and when I went home about 10pm there were lines onto the streets of Memphis.
I did not know what was going on till I turned on the late news.
Gas popped up from about $.32 to $.45 in about 2 hours.
A little time later I took my little Fiat Spyder convertable sports car in for a fillup and I drove up to the pumps and everything was over a half buck.
I drove away yelling at the top of my lungs. "I'LL NEVER PAY MORE THAN FIFTY CENTS!"
I was wrong, of course.

Think the Government can do to Electric Vehicle what they did to Gas Cans?

Boy, howdy…both my kids, being newer models than me, are saddled with various versions of this. I wasted so much gas on the ground trying to mow the lawns at their houses that now I bring my cans and gas to mow THEIR yards. Good thing I like them. My 30+ year old dump can has eroded away the filter screen to nothing and the transport caps are a baggie/ rubber band and a vacuum cap on the vent, and it will probably be that way until I give up my lawn mowing is relaxing card.

Here's your 5 minute fix. Most of that time will be digging out a tiny drill bit from your tool box.

Drill tiny hole in the seam on the back of the can opposite to where the spout is where the vent used to be.

Make own vent.

Problem solved.

Just don't overfill your jugs at the gas station.

As for government screwing things up. Surprised no one has brought up the obama bulbs yet. Brings whole new meaning to "he's not the brightest bulb out there".

I don't necessarily want to call it "legislating stupidity", but the US and other gubmints ALONG with failed slip-n-fall lawyers (ie: politicians) have certainly legislated lack of personal responsibility into society. Especially in Calipornia--ie: "don't eat the plastic bag" Prop 65...
