Bought a new shotgun!

Got me a mossberg 835

It's a great shotgun light as a feather but handles recoil great!

Gotta hand it to the folks at mossberg they make a good shotgun

Where is a place I can buy accessories for it... Barrels... attachment rails...

It has set screws on the receiver for a weaver type rail so share withe what you guys know!

Congrats on the new shotty!

Most 500/590 accessories will work on your 835. As far as barrels, the 835 and 590 barrels are interchangeable as well. There are a ton of on-line retailers that offer aftermarket support or you could order directly from Mossberg...

Congratulations, good lookin gun there!

590 barrels intended for a 5 round magazine will fit the 835. Receiver rails can be found just about anywhere, anything listed for a 500/590 will work.

Suh-weet!! Congrats on the new Mighty 835!!

What do you plan on using it for? Then we can go from there.

I'll be able to help more tomorrow when I get home from work. Right now I'm headin off to bed though. I love the camo on it too!!!

:geek: Any thing else?

I reckon I'm gonna have to get a dedicated scope barrel... Because with the picatinny rail attached to the top of the receiver... I'm not going to be able to use the fiber optic sights. So that's the easiest way around that... Which is okay because I was going to get a dedicated slug barrel anyhow.

Question is... 18" or 20" barrel for slugs?

Rifled

And I know it's a stupid question but can I shoot bird/buck/turkey loads thru the rifled barrel?

Well, you could....but the patterns will be awful and you'll have a nasty case of lead fowling in the barrel. Definitely not worth it.

Okay good too know!

So I would like to get a rifled barrel then for shooting slugs and I am leaning more towards 18" just for handling purposes... What do you guys think?

The only thing you'll get outta the 20" slug barrel vs. the 18" is a touch more muzzle velocity.

Don't think it'd be enough to make a significant difference for your intended use though, and the 18" barrel will be easier to maneuver. gmaster456 hit it on the nose with the rifled barrel being bad for your shot pattern. It'd act like a REALLY long spreader choke, causing the shot to spin inside the barrel and spread outward upon exit. Even at close ranges your patterns would look like a donut with all the shot in a wide ring and no impact in the center...

Yeah that's what I was thinking...

I think it would be cool to bag a deer with a shotty... Lil bit of a different hunt
We do that all the time up here as rifles are illegal to hunt with in my area.
