Coyote Calling

For those of you that have some experience with them, what type of coyote calls do you use? I picked up some diaphragm (in mouth) style coyote calls a few weeks ago. I've been practicing with them as they're a little hard to get used to. I've used diaphragm turkey calls in the past, but getting the proper tone with these coyote calls is a little different. I picked up the Primos Randy Anderson Double Howler and Sonic Dome Howler (they came as a pack). I'm going to go out to a co-workers farm with him this winter and try to deal with some coyotes that have been eating his barn cats, including a full litter of kittens. He just got a new puppy and he doesn't want them to pick him off too.

I have dog toy squeeker and an actual coyote calling squeeker, they both sounds the same. But they work fairly well yet I haven't hunted with them yet. They come around after midnight all the time. I have called em in to within a couple yards of my property. It seems the dog toy works better than the actual call. Weird.
Also..I have an app on my phone for coyote calls. Three out of the lot are actually loud enough to be used, and when I use a small portable speaker with my phone, the yotes talk back.

I don’t have any exp hunting with them but we had a couple of the wood “duck call” looking ones. They sound like 20 rabbits getting their legs pulled off. We used to take them around on controlled burns we did with the Feds. Have a guy on the crew hide in the woods and start going off on the call…..so awesome. They would group up “hey what was that?” Some of them would literally run back to the trucks.LOL……so much fun for about a year. Love messing with people scared to be in the deep woods! Back on topic damn it ! They were real easy to use if that helps. ;)

I have zero experience with calls. Never tried calling them, though a couple of the folks I know of who do I think said they used something that sounded like a rabbit? That probably isnt at all helpful...

Just so you know what you are getting into.. they are relentless when they are hungry. This video is not typical of the coyote, unless you are a small furry animal...

F bomb galore too...nsfw or kids unless on mute.

Hey, yah eh...

youtube button's not working again for me...

Dang. Not letting one get that close, even if they are beautiful animals. The population is getting bigger and bigger, and when the food gets scarce in winter they get more bold. In a pack they can downright dangerous.

Here in TN it is open season on yotes year round and there is no kill limit. I try and kill one whenever the opportunity arises. I see them out at the farm every now and then. All 40 cows huddle up like a wagon train and chase after thre yotes and run em off. Its pretty funny to watch the yotes turn tail and run with 40 1,000 plus cows giving chase.

Yup they tuck that tail under and get gone. There have been a couple that got butted right as they were going under the fence and if they handnt made it under the fence they would have been torn to pieces.

I have actually called a few yotes using one of those squeaky dog toys. Apparently, the yotes think it is some dying rabbit or something and they come to investigate. When they do their guts get splattered over God's creation.
