AOW also known as Any Other Weapon.

My interests have peaked, from various browsing of the net. One example that caught me eye.

Can it be possible to build one like an AR.
ie, buy or make a receiver and add all the parts to make what you want.

Like Serbu or Black Aces.

Only reason I say, is like cars or bikes, who like stock? Don't we all like our own twist on things that we own as to distinct one from the other.

It costs $200 to build an AOW (it costs $5 to transfer one that is already made).

Personally, if I were building, I would just build a short barrel shotgun so you can add a buttstock and essentially have a sawed off shotgun and besides, will still cost the same $200 tax stamp.

AOW's can never have a buttstock installed from the factory or at any time whatsoever.
