I have an older 500CG 20 ga. The FLEX conversion kits have been almost impossible to find. People on forums citing over a 2 year wait. I find a conversation kit after a long wait. Purchased 2 FLEX stocks and a FLEX forend.
The conversion kit worked on the stock, but did not work on a single rail forend.
Yet, Mossberg makes no mention of this and after long hold times finally puts a FLEX "specialist" on the phone with my gunsmith to be then told by Mossberg that "FLEX conversion will not work on some of the older 20 ga. models with single rail."
HOW ABOUT ADVERTISING THOSE FACTS INSTEAD OF LEADING THE PUBLIC ON TO BELIEVE THE CONVERSION KITS APPLY TO "ALL" 500 SERIES?
Now I get to be inconvenienced to have to go back to Mossberg and see if the distributor will take back the forend and what to do now with the FLEX forend part of the conversion kit that can't be used.
I like the 20ga. for around the house. Personally I think the gauge deserves more attention. I hope somebody makes this right.
