Well, I went and did it, I ordered the Savage Axis in 6.5 Creedmoor. I saw the rebate offered until 12/31 and decided to jump on it.

Should only cost me a little over $200 after rebate, too good to pass up.

I'll post up pics when it arrives!!

Alright Mister Moneypants.

Optics and ammo are going to eat you UP!!!!!!

Smoking deal!!!!

I know you've been wanting one for a while too.

And savage makes some accurate guns too.

Will stand by patiently waiting for a range report once you get it set up.

I picked up the gun yesterday. First impressions are good. Finish and function of the bolt are pretty good for a $300 rifle. The stock is a nice for a plastic one but not very rigid. That will be replaced. Pretty much the only things that will remain in the end is the receiver and barrel.

While I have a general plan, the specifics are still TBD.

Only definite is a Timney trigger.

I'll try to get some pics up this weekend.

Savage/creedmore rifle, timney trigger.

You bought a gun, you're going to end up with a fricken long range laser.

The problem will be finding a long range to exercise this laser. LOL

Here are some pics. I dry fired it a few times and I actually impressed with the stock trigger. It's not an acutrigger but it has very little creep.Axis_001.jpg Axis_002.jpg Axis_003.jpg Axis_004.jpg Axis_005.jpg Axis_006.jpg Axis_007.jpg
