Good morning

Good morning guys.

I am still fitting parts….

I did cut those battery box rails and the frame did spring apart but only about 3/16” and I was expecting it to spread over 3/8”.

Well at this point it is what it is and that’s where it’s going to stay. Meanwhile I had to get the rear brake line out of my way so I mocked up the master cylinder and bent the brake line to fit. Now I get to do the fuel line.

Since the laws in California have changed, finding the racing fuel tank of my dreams at Amazon is hopeless. They won’t deliver it to California.

Anyhow I did find some fuel tanks that they would deliver but not in the shape that I need. I was hoping to get a dragster style tank in this size and shape: A 5 gallon cylinder. This harbor freight tank is a pressure tank and it is very heavy by comparison.

But it might end up being what I make my gas tank from.

I did get the pedal assembly mostly cleaned up, and mounted with cables, spring, etc. Everything clears and operates smoothly enough.

But the arrow in my pic shows where I stuffed a shim in the pedal stop to make things line up.

I need to made some real pedal stops.

Also the brake pushrod needs to be 2 inches longer.

It is expected to rain here by Monday, but I won’t hold my breath, having lived in the desert for 50 years.

But today is projected to be beautiful with calm sunny skies and shirtsleeve temperatures.

You all have a lovely day.

The gas tank I made for my abandoned truck project was a 40lb propane bottle from trailer world. I added a filler, fuel and return line nipples and welded some mounts to the ends. Works good too, my S I L has it bolted into his toy hauler to top off his quads..

Fellmann, if I remember right (given my old age) a few years ago you were talking about adding a light?

Did you ever decide if you wanted a handheld or weapon mounted one?

That's a fine looking shotgun. I especially like the adjustable LOP. Many of the fixed stocks are too long for tactical or CQB operations.

Regards

A few years back, it was forbidden to have a collapsible or folding stock. Pistol grips was a bit shady. Regulations have changed a bit since then. Now you can have that type of stock. It is the overall length of the weapon that is regulated - the weapon cannot become shorter than 60 cm ( 23.6 inches ). Magazines have become regulated ( you cannot buy a magazine to a weapon type you don't own ) Thanks to the furious gang violence / shootings !

The weapon fit me perfectly now, so i can square up against the the target / threat. Pistol grip and all feels very nice. It has become more of a slug gun :)

Yes, i have two weapon lights now i can add ( i have sold my Glock 17 ) There is plenty of rail on the forend.

Fellmann, to me those are excellent flashlight choices. I've been a Streamlight user from way back and have a couple of TLR-1 HLs that are use mainly on pistols and occasionally shotguns, like the Shockwave. I really like their control placement.

I've never been a fan of remote pressure switches which get bumped or inadvertently turned on at the wrong time. However, I do like tail switches on regular flashlights which I can operate with my thumb. Those work extremely well on both 500s and 590s when placed as far forward as possible to prevent barrel shadowing.

Good choices!

Regards

For your amusement, @Rodburner
lol, I can see my bosses face when I tell him I just shut off a main to weld on a tee.. our system had main pressure of 450psi or less, .188 or .250 wall that was only allowed to be arc welded and was NEVER shut down. I only gas welded, only 60psi or less, and welded it live daily and many times with pressurized gas escaping during emergency work. Sure, I blew through a few times, as you can imagine how long you have to apply the heat to melt steel, but it was infrequent as it made for a lot more welding to repair that still live line. The instant melt provided by arc, coupled with the cold of moving gas inside makes for a pretty controlled environment.. thanks for the chuckle

Best kid story I heard this week.

While on the campaign trail, in the air of course, Vance’s 4 year old son wanders from the vip area into the press room in Trump Force 2.

He tells the reporter’s they are all fake news.

Then minutes later, his puppy wanders in there and takes a dump on the floor.

Good morning to all of yous. We spent the weekend putting up decorations. This might be the last time if we happen to move during the next year. We have been looking at options. Right now it is down to an apartment, condo in town, or retirment home.

We are have quite a bit of rain today. It started about midnight last night. At least the temperature is nice. Its in the mid 60s and holding.

You all have a great day.

One advantage of being old and feeble is that the spouse no longer wants me on a ladder putting up @@#$% Christmas lights! We had one hell of a wind storm last night around 10pm. Actually knocked the electricity off for about 2 minutes. All clear today. Typical Midwest.

Be safe out there.
