Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

Now you got me wanting to order some CDM gear for my mossberg 500 I am building...

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

Why Thank You!

You wont be disapointed with the CDM Gear!

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

Nice! I love the ammo rig and crap magnet patch! Is that a modular component for a chest rig?

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

There is a modular version of the Micro rig, but this one is specific to the 12 gauge. The ammo pouches are sewn to the body, and the pouches have slots for the tethers that hold onto the shotshell carriers. The BOK pocket is sewn to the body as well.
There are other versions that are dedicated to the M4/AK, one for the .308, one for 9mm subguns, and then a MOLLE version that is modular and can be set up however you want.
The crap magnet thing is something I got to annoy my old Chief. I was preceived for some reason as something of a crap magnet, and I used to tell him that the quicker I stirred something up the longer I had to fix it. He did not always approve, and my label was born.

For some reason the board is cutting off the right side of my pics.

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

lol! Funny story! I like the rig, is it the SOE?

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

Yes. That is the John Willis' Original SOE Gear 12 Gauge Micro.
I've thrown several shotgun go bags together over the years and never really been happy with any of them. Too big, no organization, no way to secure the rounds, no way to differentiate the rounds, no way to easily move from one source to the other and be able to keep feeding the shotgun, etc. These were the problems I ran into with everything else. John did a great job on this and it is just dirt simple but so capable at the same time. I finally found a shotgun rig that will work for classes, active shooter, truck gun, and anything else.

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

Where do you purchase that setup?

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

Here.

This is the way OSOE works: you pick out what you want, and then add to your cart and go through the checkout, but you don't pay at that point. You will later get an email with the total and shipping, and a PayPal email account to make payment to after the gear is made. A lot of their stuff isn't stocked, they make it as it is requested. This means that you may have a wait of about a week for some stuff.
I've ordered some stuff from him, and I think it took right around a week to get it.
You can also purchase some of it from various gear dealers. Tactical Response is one dealer that sells OSOE stuff.

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

Cool! We have a subforum with reviews for that ATI stock! It may be under the review tab? Got any questions, dont hesitate to ask!

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

I'll check that out Ross.

I haven't shot the Mav 88 with the new stock yet but it feels good just not as good as the 590..

Re: I'll show you mine if show me yours!

DaveinCT: Congratulations. Looks like you managed to get a heat shield on your A1. I've been searching for one but, of course, they don't exist. The last lead was AimPro Tactical who hasn't answered his phone or emails in months. How about some details on your mount.

I know Aimpro is difficult to get a hold of, but you just have to keep calling, and for some reason I'm able to get through later in the day.

Otherwise, I have been able to find info on folks modding the standard heat shields, and while I havent tried it, it doesnt seem like it takes too much to do.

Mossberg 590A1 SPX

Hey, Rossignol told me to check this forum out from SGworld. This is my 590A1 SPX, bought it from a friend a couple of months ago. Right click-> view image to see them uncropped, the forum software isn't set up to automatically constrain the images to the frame width.

From the factory

I've since added a Mossberg 500/590 heatshield (Had to modify the front band to get it to fit- still working on a custom spacer idea to keep it from creeping forward), a Hogue 12" LOP stock and for-end (highly recommend this), a LaserLyte tri-rail mount with a Fenix TK-11R2 light, and a 6 shot Tacstar side saddle loaded with Federal LE 00 buck

shotty2.jpg

I've only put about 150 rounds through it since I owned it, I don't treat it very nice like I do my WWII weapons, since it has no historical value to me. I just make sure it keeps working. I've had no problems with any ammo I've tried through it, and it's a blast to shoot. The elevation is not dialed in perfectly with the buck shoot, IIRC it is about a foot high at ~20 yards. I ran out of ammo in the zeroing process (d'oh) so I'll have to go back with a couple of boxes. The windage is fine from what I could tell, it's a shotgun afterall.

A few close-ups

The factory rear sight aperture, and a blurry glimpse of the factory front fiber-optic. The finish on the entire shotgun is pretty weak, Doesn't take much to scuff and scratch it, but that's no big deal to me. One of my rifles has almost no parkerization left on it.

The factory compensated barrel (I have no idea how effective this is in practice), the LaserLyte tri-rail and Fenix TK-11R2.

It's pretty dirty.
