Magpul MS3 Multi-Mission Sling System

Description:
Driven by the operational experience of Magpul DynamicsSM instructors, the MS3 Multi-Mission Sling System was designed to give a versatile weapon-retention solution for a multitude of tactical environments and missions. As a standalone product, the rapidly-convertible MS3 allows an operator to leverage the maneuverability of one-point attachment for direct action, or two-point attachment for stability. Single-hand adjustments and quick-release, positive-locking hardware provide flexibility and durability in a truly adaptable sling system.

Used in conjunction with the Magpul ASAP® plate (sold separately), the MS3 enables seamless transitions into an array of shooting positions without getting bound or fouled. The MS3 concept allows switching from Weapon Shoulder to Reaction Shoulder for shooting around corners, under vehicles, or to minimize exposure. The MS3 can also increase operator survivability by keeping the weapon in the fight in case of injury to the operator's shoulder, arm, or hand.

The MS3 incorporates several new features over its predecessor, the MS2, including all new Magpul designed and built hardware as well as improved webbing for greater durability and compatibility.

Made in U.S.A.

First Impressions
As with all Magpul products the packaging is very simple with very clear and to the point directions. Having seen a friends MS2, the MS3 is made of a heavier material that they claim will not fray when in contact with velcro or hook and loop. I'll be testing this claim out in a few days. The sling is very simple to adjust and once fitted is as comfortable as my Quake single point sling. The latch locks allow you to ... well, lock the latches as the name suggests. It works just like a cross bolt safety on a firearm and prevents the latches from accidentally releasing. The one complaint I do have about the MS3, and it's a big one, is that the latches are not large enough to work with my GG&G rear loop sling plate. In Magpul's defense it was designed with their ASAP (Ambidextrous Sling Attachment Point) mount in mind. It would have been nice if they could have made it 2 - 3mm thicker to accommodate other brand mounts though.

Sadly, that is were this review will stop until I can pick up another sling mounting option as the sling is totally unusable with my current setup.

Man, sux about the mount.

Wonder about the wire loom type mount you can put just about anywhere. I don't recall the exact name, but its supposed to be a fairly universal sorta thing.

A mount like this should work ... or at least I hope it will

I have this from GG&G now, but it's too thick to work with the MS3. The front one is 1/3 the thickness, so it's fine. Just the rear one is the issue.
