Took my Mossberg 500 18.5” police trade in out to the range, slug only as the location is primarily set up for shooting handguns. Shooting Federal Premium Truball rifled slugs.
POI is noticeably higher than of POA at that distance, was holding on lower target, with exception of 1 or 2 (can’t tell now from picture, shot two boxes,10 total) that I aimed on the upper just to see, hit high right. The errant smaller holes in the lower target are just a few shots I took with my pistol that I brought along with me.
Was just using the standard bead sight on the barrel the shotgun came with. However I do have another barrel with rifle sights I’d like to bench/bag rest and dial in at 50 or 100.
What brand of rifled slugs does your gun prefer? Open to recommendations, heard good things about some but at end of the day know it’s unique to each individual shotgun and just have to see what shoots best in yours.
