Mossberg Serial Number Data Base

So far that's what it's looking like.

The more numbers that come in, the closer we can tell the month and year.
 
I have a Txxxxxx 591a1 as well, I can get the details this evening if you wish, not to mention my old Bullpup which is a Jxxxxxx as well, I just have no idea the exact build date.
 
Thank you Brian every gun counts. That would be great if you can get more info.

Also could we get the first 3 numbers of the serial numbers, and any info you might have on them.

Mossberg 500 12ga.---H217291---27 MAR 1979.

Just got the Email from Mossberg today. I was eight years old when it was built...

Received an email from Mossberg this morning. As follows: "Thank you for your e-mail. The date of manufacture for your gun is August 08,2002 and its model 50411"
Serial # is R282xxx
 
Updated list on page 1.
Just noticed the "D" prefix is all over the map.

WEEK ONE

We started with nothingness. At this point we can tell when most Mossberg pumps were made.

Everyone did a great job. This is a community effort and you all really stepped up.

This is an ongoing project. We are going to continue to hammer out year codes. We will also start to figure when specific models/parts/etc were built.
