Mossy 535 ATS camo (real paint?)

It is generally "hydrodipped"

Its hydrodipped. It's definitely waterproof. There are quite a few pics in my build thread ( link in my signature ). In my opinion it's a great gun!

Sorry not talking about the stock.

I am talking about the metal barrel. The metal is "hydrodipped" by mossberg on the outside only? The metal barrel looks like bare inside, but painted/taped outside.

The barrel is hydrodipped as well.

Like in the video of the stock above, the entire barrel is submerged in the activating solution during the process but only the outer surface is exposed to the camo film...

Ok, I am starting to understand.

I would think the Mossy 535 camo film is the second best anti-rust shotgun that Mossberg makes besides the nickel plated Marine version?

Would be interesting to know if Mossberg has tested the 535 in rust tests?

If you are looking for rust on shotgun, you have to look at 870's .
No rust on a Mossberg! :D
No matter what finish is on the barrel

I called Mossberg today. He said you can use any gun oil on the film (dripped) on these Mossy 535 ATS Camo shotguns.

He said they used WD40 at the factory.
