New 590a1 On The Way!!!

Finally 'pulled the trigger' today and ordered my 590a1, model 51663. It's the 9 shot 20" with the Ghost Rings. With any luck I'll have it by nexy Friday.


I finally get to join the "a1" club!!! :D
 
Woot woot! Congratulations on your new Mossberg 590A1. I may be pulling the trigger on one shortly as well.
 
Love mine. Great all around gun. Congrats! I went with the 5 shot model for versatility, but the one you havecoming is a purpose built beast! Not to mention possibly the best looking gun on the market in my opinion.
 
Don't forget to pick up a bayonet!! It's a MUST HAVE once you've seen that #51663 w/an Ontario M9 you will want one! Only been in the 'A1 club' for a few weeks and it's already smoothed up QUITE A BIT! Just pump it 100 times while watching T.V. and it'll slicken up, shooting hi-brass will help it a lot too!! I love mine, same as yours', just the #51668 w/GRS and speedfeed stock (all they had in 20" A1's w/GRS, but I actually LIKE the Speedfeed, it works well w/my'style' of shooting/reloading, and RETAINS it's shells VERY WELL now)... Make sure you check and MAKE SURE the front sight is COMPLETELY STRAIGHT, if not call Mossy, and have them send YOU the replacement barrel FIRST, any probs let me know, ENJOY FELLOW 'A1' owner!

Nice grab once again, LAZY!!!

You won't be disappointed with the A1 that's for sure. My 590A1 has gotten a break since the Saiga 12 came along which is a hoot to shoot but if the SHTF I'd grab the 590A1 over the Saiga. If Zombies where coming :roll: The Saiga 12 would fit the bill nicely.. :mrgreen:
 
Well folks, I'm sorry to say that I didn't get my 590a1... :cry:


The gun store that placed the order (not my usual spot) requested the WRONG part number and what showed up was a standard 9 shot 590 with GRS, not the "a1".

I imagine my reaction looked something like this...





The part numbers are only one digit off so it was an honest mistake (50663 for the 590 / 51663 for the 590a1). The shop owner checked with his distributor and they did not have the model 590a1 that I want. He said he'd keep checking with other distributors and give me a call if he finds one, so I've got my fingers crossed.

Wish me luck...
 
That is a bummer but hopefully they can track one down shortly.
 
Yeah thanks, I was pumped about get'n it.


The shop has a 590a1, but it's a 6 shot and no Ghost Rings. I'll give them a couple weeks to try and make it right, but I'm not gonna settle for something I don't really want.
