I want to thank you for adding to this thread. MO is not the most active gun forum out there but there still a number of people that stop by on a regular basis.
And maybe some lurkers or researchers. Your pictures are quite nice and are changing how I "imagine" a 590 to be. The more I look at your excellent pics, the more I think "wow, look at that!" Not in a bad way--more like "that's kinda cool!" There is a term I use instead of "breaking-in" a shotgun and that is "easing-in". Meaning, I'll take it down and knock the sharp edges off the stampings like maybe the slide struts, etc. Not the sear or extractors or anything like that. Maybe that is unnecessary nowadays, but if you do take it down, take some pics, plz.
I note that your 590 is made in New Haven, CT. NICE! BTW, the following pic is what I see when someone says "Mossberg 590A1"
