Yesterday NY expanded their red flag law. Now, school administrators can seek to have your guns removed without a crime being committed and before you can defend yourself in court. I don't know about you folks but this scares the hell out of me. Eventually it will be anyone that knows you. "The red flag law will save lives," Cuomo said. "It is common sense. It is logical. It is factual."

Cuomo did it in the name of the Marjory Stoneman shootings a year ago. That would be the shooting where the school ignored their proto-calls and had unlocked gates/doors, ignored warnings he threatened to shoot up the school, local police did not charge him with previous crimes that would have prevented passing a background check, the FBI ignored a tip warning them he threatened to shoot up the school, the school resource officer did nothing, first responding Broward Sheriffs officers did nothing and the left says it is the fault of the gun.

The whole idea of everyone spying on everyone and the gov disarming you without just cause sounds a lot like Hitlers Germany.

We are sledding down a slippery slope heading quicky into a bottoless crevasse.

People need to wake up and see the we are actually turning into a socialist county incrementally. Every new generation is more and more brainwashed that it is the right way.......

That said, I personally find these laws very disturbing and unneeded. We already have policies in place that actually require due process. They cant change the 2A so they are working to make gun owners a general threat to the rest of sciety so they can legally justify removal of all guns. I find it hard to see any other purpose in all of this

... and Castro's Cuba. Every inhabitant [I can't refer to them as "citizens] was mandated to report "wrongdoing" even by family members. Fortunately there was no way that could be abused.

An old farmer once said "never keep all your eggs in the same basket."

Seems like the farmer was worried that if he slipped and fell that all his eggs would be broken.

edit: oops, I replied to the wrong topic with the wrong message.

My apologies.

So, little Johnny goes to school and seems s little down. The teacher asks Johnny what's wrong. Johnny tells the teacher his mom and dad argue a lot. The teacher asks Johnny if there is a gun in the house. Johnny says my dad is a hunter, of course we have a gun......

Yeah, that's pretty much how it will be.

I watched some of the floor debate at the US House of Representatives today on Cspan concerning their red flag law proposals.

Same tired "gun show loophole" and "internet gun sales" and stuff that the democrats have been vomiting for the last 20 years. It would be terrible if it were true, but they sure do spout it as if it were. You would think that elected reps would at least be able to quote their laws correctly, but I guess that would be too much to expect or ask of them.

There was one Republican Representative (I wish I had noted his name) that asked a sincere question.

Paraphrasing

"show one instance where a criminal followed the law."

Naturally, all you could hear in the room was the air conditioner kicking on because no one had an example of such.

The Dumpocraps believe a lie repeated often enough will become truth! That is their MO to convince the pinheads who vote for them...

I've just come to realize that by "loophole" they just generally mean our ability to own firearms in general regardless of how many hoops and hurdles we have to traverse to acquire them.

We keep saying how dumb these people are. Most of them are lawyers, they went to the best schools money can buy. They are extreamly shrewed and sharp at playing politics and maintaining their power and money. Sadly AOC is a much closer representation to the community that elected her than the majority of rest who come from political dynasties and wealth. But that said I dont see her denying herself any of the spoils of war for her constituants. She is naive of many things, but just as self serving as the rest.

Back on track, as long as we the people can acquire firearms they will spew this rhetoric. Name one socialist country that got there without disarming and silencing the masses. Never in the history of the US have people been hated and publically demonized in the media simply based on who they voted for. We have enterred an area I never imagined the US would sink into.

Keep buying those guns and ammo.

I have opinions on this very subject that run deep. I started formulating these opinions many (35-40) years ago. Too many parents have been willing to let our public schools take over parenting responsibilities over the years. The government is more than happy to take up the slack and mold their impressionable minds.

We have too many parents willing to give their kids paxil or lithium than a good swat on the butt when needed. Hell, keep em calm and quiet so mom, and sometimes dad can relax and chill out. If the kids these days don't have an electronic device to keep them occupied they are lost for something to do. We also live in an era when at night it seems like every other commercial is for a drug to make one feel better. Kids see those too. It's ok though, liberals like those drugs. Now, cigarettes have not run tv commercials for a long time, liberals don't like for other people to smoke.

OK, I am on a rant here. One only has to look at the changes in this country as liberalism has progressed. The only thing standing between them and a complete takeover of the populace is the 2nd amendment.

That is very true.

I also note that the last few years, they have been demonizing the NRA.

I think the NRA is just a scapegoat and deflection to what is really to blame. No different than blaming a gun for what someone does with it.

Sadly, there are so many people incapable and unwilling to really look at the issue.

As a Life Member of the NRA, I take offense to the pinheads blaming the NRA for various shootings or implying Representative and Senators are "in the pocket" of the NRA because they have accepted campaign contributions from the NRA. Then there is the matter of manufacturers providing funding to the NRA often brought up by the aforementioned pinheads.

Firstly, the NRA has NOT been responsible for ANY shootings, either directly or indirectly. Secondly, IF I were a rep. or sen. I would be happy and proud to accept contributions to my campaign from the NRA as I am certainly Pro-2A and running for office is a very expensive endeavor. Thirdly, it is in manufacturer's best interest to support an organization that contains members that would be buying their products--paying for advertising if you will.

It amazes me the stuff that the pinheads try to throw at the NRA to see if it sticks. A couple/few months back there was something about a Russian woman and her connections to the NRA then I never heard anything about it. Whenever there is a shooting the pinheads try to find some kind of connection to the NRA such as a bumper sticker or something. The guy with the van full of stickers comes to mind... But the NRA does not and will not release its membership list and that is a GOOD thing.

Unrelated, but speaking of lists, the BATFE DOES provide a downloadable list of FFL holders probably for verification purposes but I'm sure it could be and probably has been used by the pinheads to target gun-related businesses.

The left has indoctrinated many high school and middle schoolers to believe the NRA and MAGA hats are worn by people out to get them. What they really want to do in the case of the NRA is to take away a source of campaign funds for supporters of the 2nd. Lets face it, it takes a lot of money to run for any level of political office these days, and the left is just trying to do away with one of those sources because it does not align with their agenda.
