pictures that make you lol

This strange little building in Fresno CA sits across the street from my dentist’s office, and I have spent a lot of time in the chair there staring out the window at it. I think it’s been there since 1980.

This was designed by famous local architect Art Dyson who at one point was the dean of the Frank Loyd Wright school of architecture. He did a number of very strange looking houses in the better parts of Fresno but this is a business originally opened as a boutique and salon although over the years it has also been the office of an accountant and an orthodontist.

Another famous Arthur, Canadian architect Arthur Erickson, did the designs for the Fresno City Hall.

This is often referred to locally as the Klingon spaceship.

These views do not display all of the architectural nonsense going on here including the drooping internal skylight structure and the backside of the building which I can’t seem to find a good photo of.

When I was working at the Kawneer company in Visalia, they brought me these plans, and asked me to do a proposal for the aluminum window system.

I did an analysis but I never did a proposal, because the analysis told me we didn’t want the job. There were over 500 big windows on this building and there were no more than two of the big ones with the same dimensions.

Actually in the front view it looks like one big curving window which could’ve been another one of these focused energy disasters like they have with the tower in London, except that this building faces north and doesn’t get enough sunlight.

About 6, I usually use a phone for 6 or 7 years. I usually get a new phone because my present one broke, won’t hold a charge, or the generation of phone isn’t supported.
