My choices in life were either to be a piano player in a whore house or a politician... and to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference!

[Personal note: I met Harry S. Truman when he was making college tours. In 1963 he visited Grinnell College, IA, and stayed in the house across the street from my residence hall.
In addition to an auditorium lecture he held an impromptu "press conference" type Q&A session before a gaggle of students. He stood on the house porch and fielded question for about 20 minutes. Every thing from WW1 service and FDR to the atom bomb.

My favorite quote from HST was his answer to speculative questions like "What would you have done if Japan..."
He would always respond, "I don't answer if-and-or-but questions"]

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.

I hope my stockbroker didn’t invest in CNN.

But if he did I hope it gets brought up by a conservative interest and made into a success.
