It may be underneath of the dovetail sight.

Marbles company, which makes a lot of ramped sights, are well known to use that technique.

But, since I have never seen a front sight quite like that one, I'm not taking bets that I'm right either.
 
I still don't see a set screw threaded hole.

I am still confused.

From my post earlier today:
Look on youtube under "XS Sights SHOTRAIL". (part of Gun Stock Reviews).
In the last half of the video, they remove/replace the upper portion of this sight and adjust the set-screw.
 
Okay. Thanks for teaching what I was clearly ignorant about. My Mossberg with factory GRS does not have a set screw, and that is where I was confused.
