Wall rack for the '88

I found this on Amazon and for $15, I took a chance. I'm impressed with the quality and look forward to getting it on the wall....if I can decide WHICH wall.

I had initially wanted a quick access rack for the garage when I'm out there - I have a short wall by the washer/dryer that would hide it from view. Then I though of the front hallway -- a little too obvious for family & friends. We rarely have either over at the house, but you never know.

What I really need to shop for is a gun safe....but that is an entirely different can of gummy worms.

Maybe behind a door that typically stays open?

Or inside a closet just inside the door on the latch side?

Looks like a good mount at a good price.

Regards

Nice for when you switch up weapons. Mine didn’t cost anything but five minutes of welding, but is sized just for the shockwave. The barrel goes in the big socket but doesn’t touch it, the smaller socket holds the mag tube nut and the bits of hose protect the barrel from the pipe hanger that grips it. Just tilts in and out..still behind the bedroom door lolIMG_4101.jpeg

I finally got the rack installed on a garage wall that is not visible from the open garage door. You have to walk clear to the back. I managed to find a stud to put the screws into, although the drywall anchors probably would have worked since the Maverick 88 only weighs 6lb fully loaded.

There's also room to store a small dump pouch with more shells on velcro strips. ;)

To be honest, not that that means anything, but I don’t like that at all. I don’t live out in the woods where I could hang guns out in the open like that and still wouldn’t even if I did. I have plenty of non descript “ weapons” laying around my small house to hopefully fend off an intruder until I retreat to the room with the noisemakers. But no matter how much I Mack Bolan that scenario, I would still most likely just be shot while sitting in my recliner on the front porch..lol

Perhaps I should have clarified that the only time the gun would be in that rack is when I was working in the garage. Otherwise it would be in it;s secured spot. I really didn't like the location once it was up, so I took it down. Took up too much area. That wall really needs a wall cabinet so I can get other things off the floor and workbench.

I wish. The previous owner of this house built an awesome built-in workbench with upper and lower cabinets. Terrific to have but no good hiding places. The search continues

lol, I hear ya. When I first got the shockwave I was a bit paranoid, so I cut a hole in the bedroom and built a sliding shelf that was hidden inside a half height linen closet at the end of the hallway. The hole in the wall was covered by a hinged headboard I built, shelves, reading lights, the whole shebang. Just pull it down and out slid the gun shelf. Worked good until the wife wanted the bed closer to the window..lol. Oh well

I'm digging the wall phone! ;) I think you need a rotary dial instead though! :D

We haven't had a land line phone in 15yrs and when we did, it was hooked to four cordless phones strategically placed throughout the house. :) Up until 5yrs ago we still had a land line hooked to a fax machine but since it was very rarely used (once every 1-2 months) it went away...

Actually....the rotary one is in a closet. We had to get this one years ago at the phone company's request: apparently we were the only ones in our area left with a pulse-dial rotary when they abandoned that to go 100% touch tone.

R...I...G...H...T... Now I remember--they replaced rotaries because digitals can't count above one! :D
