what to do??

I have been looking for a short barrel for my 88 but the prices have went crazy the last few months with barrels selling for as much as a gun would cost. So my question is this, if you have an 88 and wanted a short barrel shotgun, what would you do? Buy another 88 and cut the barrel down as new 88 hear is $200 otd, buy a short acc. barrel for $160 or buy an escort home defense gun for $212 otd.? There are no home defense 88's in my area. thanks

UPDATE: I couldn't find any 88 long barrels or short barrels reasonable so with the help of some friends I was able to buy a different brand. I bought an EAA 612 Churchill home defense 12 gauge, its the model with the regular stock. The stock also is much shorter than the Maverick and fits better, I am getting a youth stock for my Maverick. My local shop only had one EAA and it was cheap enough, just over $175 after tax and it was brand new. Fires slugs really well but didn't come with a plug so I will have to make one for rabbit hunting.

Interesting. I found an EAA with 18.5" barrel for my brother a couple weeks ago. From what I've read, it's kind of a Turkish made Remmy 870 clone. I hope it works well. For both you and my brother.

Turkish guns in general are great as long as you dont plan on moding them. Being that the aftermarket for them is bleak vs remi or mossy. I just got Hatsan Slugger 18" pump, runs great.
