Obama's Corruption Chronicles:

Another $58 Mil for Failed “Green” Car Program

A scandal-plagued “green” auto program that’s fleeced American taxpayers out of huge sums just got another $58 million from the Obama administration to support the development of advanced technology vehicles that meet higher efficiency standards.

The experimental program is known as Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing (ATVM) and it’s one of the president’s many disastrous green-energy investments. The public funds are funneled through the Department of Energy (DOE), which is handing out cash like candy on Halloween. In all, the administration has set aside an astounding $25 billion for the cause and a chunk of it has already been lost on initiatives that have failed miserably.

Among them is fly-by-night electric car company called Fisker Automotive that shut down after getting an eye-popping $193 million from the government. The Obama DOE originally pledged $529 million for the California startup but the cash finally stopped flowing when Fisker laid off three quarters of its employees and announced it was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Judicial Watch has an ongoing investigation into the Fisker scandal and has sued the DOE for records detailing the government “loan” that will obviously never be repaid because the company went under. The Obama administration touted it as a great investment in a company that would create thousands of jobs in a region hit hard by unemployment. The administration also promised Fisker would develop two lines of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles that could run up to 300 miles on a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. None of this ever came close to materializing and instead taxpayers got stuck with the huge loss of this failed experiment.

Soon after Fisker’s collapse another startup called Vehicle Production Group (VPG) went under after losing $50 million in taxpayer funds. VPG was supposed to create special vans for the disabled that run on compressed natural gas. Here’s how the Obama administration justified funding this experiment with public dollars: “This project invests in a socially and environmentally responsible product that will create new jobs, promote the use of alternative fuels, and help the U.S. maintain its competitive edge in the automotive industry.” The DOE eventually took the page down, but JW got the quote straight from the agency’s announcement touting VPG, which turned out to be yet another costly failure for taxpayers.

This hasn’t stopped the administration from pouring big bucks into these dubious green energy initiatives. In announcing the $58 million ATVM allocation this month, the DOE has the audacity to claim that the controversial program has enjoyed great “successes.” The agency press release says the funding will solicit projects across vehicle technologies like energy storage, electric drive systems, materials, fuels and lubricants and advanced combustion. The technologies will help save American consumers money and decrease carbon emissions by increasing the fuel efficiency of conventional cars and trucks, according to the agency.

It will also support the administration’s goal to make electric vehicles as affordable as gas-powered vehicles by 2022. “These successful investments in next-generation vehicle technologies are a clear example of the impact innovation can have on industry and consumers,” said DOE Secretary Ernest Moniz.

This is nuts. Electric vehicles should cost half as much as gasoline cars.
And they would if people wanted them enough for real mass-production to happen.
They don't.

Tesla's just a boutique car IMO. Like a Porsche. Not a car for the average guy.

U.S. Commits $9.5 Mil to Migrant Education

It’s not enough that American taxpayers spend billions annually to educate illegal immigrants in the nation’s public school system, this month the Obama administration is dedicating an additional $9.5 million to a special program that helps migrants and seasonal farm workers complete their studies.

The money will flow through the Office of Migrant Education which operates under the bloated U.S. Department of Education, Jimmy Carter’s brilliant creation. The funds will be divided between the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), which will receive $5,407,472 and the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) for migrants, which will get $4,082,415, according to an announcement in the federal register. CAMP helps migrant and seasonal farmworkers and members of their immediate family pay for college. HEP assists them in obtaining a general education diploma that meets guidelines for high school equivalency. The government will then help those folks gain employment or be placed in an institution of higher education, compliments of Uncle Sam.

CAMP services include outreach to eligible persons, counseling, tutoring, skills workshops, financial aid stipends, health services and housing assistance. HEP targets migrants who are at least 16 and not enrolled in school and offers developmental instruction and counseling services to prepare them for high school graduation or the alternate General Educational Development (GED) certificate. Successful candidates then get counseling, job placement, healthcare, financial aid stipends, housing and cultural and academic programs, according to the Office of Migrant Education. HEP candidates already qualify for a free public school education in the U.S., but for whatever reason don’t attend classes and the government is taking the extra step to help them.

The $9.5 million injection comes as the country’s public schools are forced to absorb the exorbitant cost of educating the recent influx of Central America minors that have entered the U.S. through Mexico in the last year and a half. A study determined that educating the initial 37,472 (the number has since grown) Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) made it into the U.S. will cost an astounding $761 million a year. The figure includes special Limited English Proficient (LEP) classes conducted in Spanish or in other indigenous Central American languages as well as free school meals for the new arrivals. In many cases the UACs have very little education, making the task all the more difficult for overwhelmed teachers and administrators.

But even before the U.S. got bombarded with hordes of Central American minors a few summers ago, the cost of educating illegal immigrants was exorbitant. This is especially true in border states because they absorb a huge chunk of the illegal aliens. For instance, California spends an estimated $12.3 billion annually educating children of undocumented immigrants, a recent study reveals, yet only a small percentage of students are proficient in reading. A different study determines that Texas spends $8.5 billion on kindergarten through 12th grade for illegal aliens, including supplemental English instruction. Arizona spends $810 million and New Mexico almost $500 million.

These mind-boggling figures don’t even include college expenses, only kindergarten through high school. Some states—including Texas, California, Utah, Washington and New York—offer illegal immigrants discounted tuition at public universities. This ends up costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars a year. JW has been a leader in working to end this illegal perk and last month filed a lawsuit against the University of California Regents seeking to end an estimated $19.6 million in non-resident tuition waivers currently being given to illegal alien students. JW’s suit charges that both federal and state law prohibit the public university system from using tax dollars to provide discounted in-state tuition benefits and financial aid to illegal immigrants.

In addition to all this the Obama administration also sends the Central American nations that have recently bombarded us with illegal aliens huge sums of taxpayer dollars to help those who stayed behind. A few months ago Judicial Watch reported on a $13 million allocation to provide job training to at-risk youth in El Salvador and Honduras, two of the countries that have sent over droves of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC). In 2014 the administration spent $2.5 million on juvenile justice reform in Guatemala and El Salvador, presumably to improve life so that minors wouldn’t flee to the U.S.

DEA Pays Informants for Intel that’s Available for Free

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) can’t seem to stay out of trouble. On the heels of a prostitution scandal that led to the resignation of its beleaguered director, a new audit reveals that the federal law enforcement agency paid a fellow government employee nearly a million dollars to provide information that was available for free.

The transgression involves the use of a paid Confidential Source (CS) working in the nation’s passenger train system, known as Amtrak. As part of a joint task force that works to interdict passengers trafficking contraband on trains the DEA and the Amtrak Police Department (APD) share information and intelligence in the course of their duties. In this particular case the DEA paid an Amtrak employee an alarming $854,460 for information that was available at no cost to the government, according to the Department of Justice Inspector General. This violates federal regulations relating to the use of government property, the watchdog concludes, thereby wasting substantial government funds. Additionally the investigation found that the DEA also violated federal rules by paying a separate Amtrak employee $9,701 in exchange for information.

In a separate but related probe, the DOJ IG also found that the DEA paid another government worker for information that was available for free. This one involves a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) airport screener who was registered as a paid CS to provide information obtained during the course of his official duties. Under the terms of his federal job the TSA employee is obligated to provide information to law enforcement officials that the DEA was paying for, the inspector general found. “Registering a TSA Security Screener as a CS violated DEA policy, which precludes registering as a CS employees of U.S. law enforcement agencies who are working solely in their official capacity with DEA,” the watchdog states in its recently issued findings.

While these infractions may seem minor to some, they are part of a broader crisis at the DEA which has been embroiled in a number a major scandals in the last few years and failed miserably to fulfill its duty of combating the illegal drug trade. The agency has around 5,000 special agents and boasts that it has dismantled the most notorious high-level trafficking and terrorist organizations that threaten America. The reality is that the DEA is best known for its shameful lapses, which include losing weapons and engaging in sex parties with prostitutes provided by drug cartels. In the meantime few would argue that the U.S. is losing the so-called war on drugs despite wasting tens of billions of dollars.

Maybe it’s because the DEA is preoccupied with other things. Last year the agency made international headlines for the prostitution scandal. According to federal investigators agents had for years participated in wild sex parties with hookers paid for by local drug cartels in foreign countries. The parties were held in locations leased by the government where sensitive equipment such as agents’ laptops and electronic devices were laying around. DEA Chief Michele Leonhart resigned over the hooker ordeal, but the agency had long been embroiled in a series of failures and abuses. Incredibly, half of the federal agents investigated for partying with prostitutes actually got financial bonuses from the DEA, according to a federal audit published months after the scandal first broke.

The DEA has also been in hot water for losing weapons and laptops. Years after the DEA’s inspector general issued a report on the weapon and laptop ordeal, the watchdog found that the problem had gotten much worse when it came to agent guns. In a 2008 report the DOG IG writes that a “2002 audit found that over a 26-month period the DEA had 16 weapons and 229 laptop computers lost or stolen. In this follow-up audit, we determined that over a 66-month period 91 weapons and 231 laptop computers were lost or stolen. Comparing the results of these two audits, we found that the DEA’s monthly rate of loss for laptop computers decreased by more than 50 percent, while the rate of loss for weapons more than doubled from 0.61 to 1.37 weapons a month.”

U.S. Rescues Illegal Alien Minors Then Puts Them in Abusive Homes
FEBRUARY 01, 2016

It’s ironic that some of the illegal immigrant minors that the Obama administration claims to have rescued from “persistent violence in Central America” have been placed in abusive homes by the U.S. government. Some have even been forced to become prostitutes or personal slaves, according to a scathing Senate investigation that’s ignited bipartisan fury.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) was assigned with placing the tens of thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) that bombarded the country beginning in 2014 and some actually ended up with human traffickers. Others have been exploited for their labor and dozens sexually assaulted, starved or forced to work as practical slaves. In one case six Guatemalan minors were placed with human traffickers that forced them to live in a decrepit trailer and work 12 hours a day on egg farms in the rural Ohio town of Marion. Another Guatemalan boy was forced to work 12 hours a day for his Virginia sponsor to repay a $6,500 smuggling debt and a boy from El Salvador was released to his abusive father even though the kid told authorities the father had a history of beating him.

Turns out HHS doesn’t bother vetting the UAC sponsors, allowing some to house multiple unrelated children which experts say is a strong indicator of human trafficking. “HHS places children with individuals about whom it knows relatively little and without verifying the limited information provided by sponsors about their alleged relationship with the child,” the Senate report states, adding that “policies and procedures were inadequate to protect the children in the agency’s care.” The Senate probe also found that HHS did not conduct background checks on all relevant adults during the time period examined. “HHS’s longstanding policy was to conduct background checks only on the sponsor, and not on any other adult listed as living in the sponsor’s home or on the person designated as the “backup” sponsor. And if that check turned up a criminal history, HHS policy was that no criminal conviction could disqualify a sponsor, no matter how serious.”

The findings of the Senate inquiry have outraged both Democrats and Republicans, who are demanding that the administration protect the children. At a hearing last week Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill told the story of a 16-year-old girl who was placed with a man claiming to be her cousin. The man was completely unrelated to the girl and had paid for her to come to the U.S. as a mail-order bride. The Democrat senator fired off a few other atrocities and said similar examples fill the case files reviewed by her committee…“Vulnerable and traumatized minors abused by their sponsors or forced to engage in backbreaking labor for little or no pay while being housed in unsanitary and dangerous conditions.” Republican Rob Portman, the Ohio Senator who along with McCaskill spearheaded the investigation, said “It is intolerable that human trafficking — modern-day slavery — could occur in our own backyard. But what makes the Marion cases even more alarming is that a U.S. government agency was responsible for delivering some of the victims into the hands of their abusers.”

When tens of thousands of UACs suddenly began entering the U.S. through Mexico in the summer of 2014, the administration blamed it on the inhumane and dangerous conditions in their homeland, specifically “persistent violence” in the region. Most have come from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras and Judicial Watch has followed the influx closely and produced a number of in-depth reports based on reliable sources directly involved with the situation. From the moment the first few hundred UACs crossed into the U.S., Homeland Security sources told JW that the influx wasn’t spontaneous but rather a product of Obama amnesty rumors that had circulated in the three Central American countries. One Homeland Security source told JW “it’s all over the news in Central America that if you bring your kids north you have a free pass.” Border Patrol agents told JW that UACs were claiming amnistía (amnesty) upon their arrival.

DOD Diversity Chief Violates Rules, Gives Leftist Groups $300k to Promote Agenda
FEBRUARY 04, 2016

To meet the Obama administration’s goal of “implementing a robust diversity strategy” at the Department of Defense (DOD), the agency’s director of diversity violated government rules by distributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to controversial leftist groups. Adding insult to injury, a “consulting” firm gets nearly half a million dollars from the DOD to help distribute the money to groups—even those that don’t qualify—that support the Pentagon’s “diversity strategy and program objectives.”

Among the recipients is the notorious open borders group League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Minority Access Inc., a Maryland-based nonprofit committed to decreasing disparities and reducing incidences of environmental injustices, and the renowned National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Others include the Society of American Indian Government Employees and the Asian American Government Executive Network. In all, the Pentagon’s Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity (ODME) gave these and other groups north of $300,000, according to a DOD Inspector General report released this month. These are considered “affinity” groups involved with networking or professional associations that are often race, ethnic background or gender based, according to the report.

The high-ranking official who violated DOD and government rules by doling out the cash to unqualified “non-federal entities” (NFE) is Clarence Johnson, the DOD’s Director of Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity. In 2010 Johnson, a veteran Pentagon official, was assigned to assist the Army in implementing a robust diversity strategy. The position came with a hefty budget to support diversity outreach functions and Johnson launched a cash giveaway, filling the coffers of groups that should not have received public funds. In its report the DOD watchdog concludes that Johnson “improperly co-sponsored NFEs that he had selected.” Auditors found that Johnson spent $301,000 on NFE sponsorships and recommend “corrective action.” The money flowed through a company called New Concepts Management Solutions (NCMS) that was evidently handpicked by Johnson. In 2012, the Office of Diversity Management hired a consulting firm called Deloitte for $480,554 to handle the diversity outreach allocations.

Here’s a brief breakdown of how some of the money was divided. The Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Institute Conference got $25,000, the Society of American Indian Government Employees got $12,000 for a training conference and a conglomerate called Latina Style Outreach received $20,000. LULAC and the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation (HENAAC) received $25,000 each. It appears that Johnson knew well that he was violating agency rules when he headed the diversity crusade because the report reveals that the DOD Office of Special Counsel has consistently said that the agency should not “sponsor” non-federal entities like the ones Johnson gave money to. In addition to money, Johnson provided these various groups with logistical manpower compliments of Uncle Sam.

It’s unlikely that Johnson will face any repercussions for his transgressions or, at most, a weak slap on the hand. He certainly appears confident in testimony to investigators probing his violations. “My job is to grow, or focus on growing, the presence of minorities and women” in government jobs with higher pay scales, Johnson told investigators. He added that the mission of his office is diversity outreach, which involves informing the diverse audience. This is why he seeks affinity groups that have a “national reach” and influence.

President Obama has made it his mission to culturally transform government by teaching federal workers about diversity, race and gender, healthcare disparities and cultural competencies. The effort has affected practically every major agency, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS), among others. It’s been a costly initiative for taxpayers. A few months ago a Judicial Watch investigation found that the Obama administration has paid a Chicago-based firm millions of dollars to strengthen the federal workplace with its brand of diversity consulting. This includes two recent DHS contracts for $24,000 and $10,000 and one for $8,500 from the Department of Energy (DOE).

“Significant Immigrant Populations from Central America” Fueling Violent Gang MS-13
FEBRUARY 05, 2016

A major bust involving the nation’s most violent street gang reveals that the criminal enterprise—known as Mara Salvatrucha or MS-13—continues to be energized with new recruits provided by the steady flow of illegal immigrant minors entering the U.S. through Mexico.

The affiliation between gangs and the hordes of Central American illegal immigrants who continue invading the U.S. is a story Judicial Watch has been reporting for more than a year. The Obama administration calls them Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) and tries to portray them as innocent, desperate kids fleeing violence and famine in their homeland. The reality is much different, as top Homeland Security sources have told JW in the course of an ongoing investigation into the dangerously porous southern border.

As soon as the UACs started arriving in the summer of 2014, Homeland Security sources told Judicial Watch that many had ties to gang members in the U.S. In fact, JW reported in 2014 that street gangs—including MS-13—went on a recruiting frenzy at U.S. shelters housing the illegal immigrant minors and they were using Red Cross phones to communicate. The MS-13 is a feared street gang of mostly Central American illegal immigrants that’s spread throughout the U.S. and is renowned for drug distribution, murder, rape, robbery, home invasions, kidnappings, vandalism and other violent crimes. The Justice Department’s National Gang Intelligence Center (NGIC) says criminal street gangs like the MS-13 are responsible for the majority of violent crimes in the U.S. and are the primary distributors of most illicit drugs.

Just a few months ago JW reported that the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that the MS-13 is a top tier gang thanks to the influx of illegal alien gang members that crossed into the state. The number of MS-13 members encountered by U.S. Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Valley sector has increased each year, accelerating in 2014 and coinciding with increased illegal immigration from Central America during the same period, the agency disclosed in a report linked to JW’s story. This clearly refers to the UAC crisis that saw over 60,000 illegal immigrants—many with criminal histories—storm into the U.S. in a matter of months.

Now we learn that dozens of MS-13 members were recently indicted in Boston for serious crimes including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, drug trafficking, firearm violations, federal racketeering and immigration offenses. Several of the defendants are responsible for murdering at least five people since 2014 and the attempted murder of at least 14 in Chelsea and East Boston, according to the federal indictment. MS-13 members also sell cocaine, heroin and marijuana and commit robberies to generate income to pay monthly dues to incarcerated gang leadership in El Salvador, federal prosecutors say. The money is used to pay for weapons, cell phones, shoes, food and other supplies for MS-13 thugs in and out of jail in El Salvador.

In their announcement of this substantial gang bust, federal prosecutors in Massachusetts reveal that MS-13 actively recruited prospective members in high schools situated in communities with “significant immigrant populations from Central America.” The recruits are known as “paros” and they are typically 14 or 15 years old, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). The perspective members then must engage in violent criminal activity before becoming a full-fledged MS-13 member.

With a direct line of access to thousands of new recruits, Obama’s ongoing flow of UACs, it’s logical to conclude the problem will only get worse. Authorities in Texas predict the gang problem will grow. “Gang members from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador could be destined for locations in Texas with large Central American communities, including the Houston and Dallas areas,” the Texas Department of Safety writes in the report JW cites above. Even if that doesn’t materialize, the state already has a serious gang crisis as do other border states with high illegal alien populations.

U.S. Blows $5.7 Bil on Cyber Defense System That Doesn’t Work
FEBRUARY 09, 2016

Reckless government spending is at full throttle with the example du jour a $5.7 billion cyber defense system created to protect computers at federal agencies against hackers. Despite its mind-boggling price tag the system is seriously flawed and uses features already available in much cheaper commercial-grade products, according to a federal probe made public recently.

The problem, besides sticking it to taxpayers for the exorbitant cost, is that the multibillion-dollar system simply doesn’t work. Nevertheless, the bloated agency handling this particular boondoggle, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), insists the program, National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS), is effective despite its documented failures. This is par for the course at the monstrous agency created after the 9/11 terrorist attacks to keep the nation safe. DHS has been involved in a number of transgressions that have left the country incredibly vulnerable, especially on the southern border where Islamic terrorists have teamed up with Mexican drug cartels to enter the U.S.

Now it’s leaving sensitive computer systems throughout government vulnerable to web threats, even after spending an astounding amount of money. It gets better, or rather, more enraging. Most of the features used by the government’s specially created NCPS are available in commercial security network appliances that are already used by federal agencies. In fact, DHS admits that some commercial products, which cost a lot cheaper than $5.7 billion, likely contain more features than the agency’s fancy NCPS. You can’t make this stuff up! It’s all documented in a federal audit made public with lots of redactions, presumably to protect national security.

A secret version of the probe, conducted by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the investigative arm of Congress, with more details was issued to federal agencies a few months ago. The public version is undoubtedly toned down, but still outrageous. Congressional investigators determined that the NCPS’s capabilities are “limited” in all areas and that the system can’t detect anomalies that may indicate attempts to attack a network. “By employing only signature-based intrusion detection, NCPS is unable to detect intrusions for which it does not have a valid or active signature deployed,” the GAO report states. “This limits the overall effectiveness of the program.”

Why, then, is the government continuing to use this dysfunctional, multibillion-dollar system if it can’t detect threats—old and new—adequately? The answer, straight from DHS officials, helps illustrate what’s wrong with government. In response to the scathing GAO report, officials from the agency’s Network Security Deployment (NSD) say that they are only tasked with providing a baseline set of protections and “government-wide situational awareness.” In other words, the officials tasked with protecting national security seem to be claiming that it really isn’t their job. There appears to be an epidemic of this throughout government.

This is hardly the first time we see this sort of egregious waste at DHS. The agency blew $878 million on an ineffective behavior program, Screening of Passengers by Observation Techniques (SPOT), that promised to single out terrorists at airports but never did. DHS also wasted $360 million on drones that were supposed to guard the Mexican border and increase apprehensions of illegal immigrants. That failed miserably as well. Just a few months ago Judicial Watch reported on yet another flawed DHS experiment that cost the government a billion dollars. Known as BioWatch, the billion-dollar swindle is promoted by the agency as a system that detects biological attacks and can therefore counter bioterrorism. The reality is that it’s useless.

New Emails Show Hillary Clinton and Aides Had Classified Information on Non-Government Email Accounts
FEBRUARY 09, 2016

Hillary Clinton Forwarded Huma Abedin Classified Info. for Printing

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released nearly 70 pages of State Department records that show that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aides, Deputy Chiefs of Staff Huma Abedin and Jake Sullivan, received and sent classified information on their non-state.gov email accounts. The documents, also available on the State Department website, were obtained in response to a court order from a May 5, 2015, lawsuit filed against the State Department (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00684)) after it failed to respond to a March 18 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking:
  • All emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-“state.gov” email address.
The new documents show that Hillary Clinton used the clintonemail.com system to ask Huma Abedin (also on a non-state.gov email account) to print two March 2011 emails, which were sent from former British Prime Minister Tony Blair (using the moniker “aclb”) to Jake Sullivan on Sullivan’s non-state.gov email account. The Obama State Department redacted the Blair emails under Exemption (b)(1) which allows the withholding of classified material. The material is marked as being classified as “Foreign government information” and “foreign relations or foreign activities of the US, including confidential sources.”

Another email shows that Clinton wanted to know how meetings in Washington, including a four-hour meeting concerning America’s war on Libya, would impact her Hampton vacation. Responding to an email that details the sensitive meetings in DC, Clinton emails Abedin on August 26, 2011, “Ok. What time would I get back to Hamptons?” Again, this email discussion takes place on non-state.gov email accounts.

The documents also include advice to Clinton on Libya from Sidney Blumenthal, a Clinton Foundation employee who, according to a Judicial Watch investigative report, also had business interests in Libya. Clinton wanted Blumenthal’s March 9, 2011, Libya memo to be printed “without any identifiers.”

The newly released Abedin emails include a lengthy exchange giving precise details of Clinton’s schedule using unsecured government emails. The email from Lona J. Valmoro, former Special Assistant to Secretary of State Clinton, to Abedin and Clinton reveals exact times (including driving times) and locations of all appointments throughout the day. Another itinerary email provides details about a meeting at the United Nations in New York at 3:00 on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, with the precise disclosure, “that would mean wheels up from Andrews at approximately 12:00pm/12:15pm.”

“These emails show that Hillary Clinton isn’t the only Obama official who should be worried about being prosecuted for mishandling classified information. Her former top State aides (and current campaign advisers) Huma Abedin and Jake Sullivan should be in the dock, as well,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The Obama State Department has now confirmed that Clinton, Abedin, and Sullivan used unsecured, non-government email accounts to communicate information that should now be withheld from the American people ‘in the interest of national defense or foreign policy, and properly classified.’ When can we expect the indictments?”

I don't particularly like linking this source but since there is largely silence in the mainstream media, I have little other choice. Especially since there are supposed to be 3 other similar incidents stemming from tenants of the same housing complex:

Machete-Wielding Muslim Man Attacks Israeli-Christian’s Ohio Restaurant, Several Wounded
by Jordan Schachtel12 Feb 2016

Police have shot and killed a man who allegedly attacked patrons of a Columbus, Ohio, restaurant Thursday night, wounding several people. One of the victims is in critical condition, according to reports.
The suspected attacker is a Somali national named Mohammad Barry, CBS reports. There are also reports that Barry was on a terrorist watchlist.
“Law enforcement is concerned that this incident has the hallmarks of the type of so-called “lone wolf” terrorist attack that they have been working to stop,” the report reads.
The suspect entered the restaurant earlier in the day and asked for the owner. He was then told the owner was not at the restaurant, and he left the building, WBNS-10TV reports.
Thirty minutes later, allegedly armed with a machete, the now-deceased suspect entered the Nazareth Restaurant and Deli at 6:30PM local time, witnesses say.
The owner of the restaurant is an Israeli Christian who formerly lived in Nazareth, Israel, according to reports.
“He came in and started beating up on another man, I thought it was a personal thing. Then he just started down the row hitting everybody; people were bleeding,” a witness told a local ABC affiliate.
A waitress said of the events as they unfolded:
He looked straight at me but he went over to the booths and just started going down the booths. It all seemed to happen in slow motion.
Karan Bass, who was in the restaurant at the time of the assault, said:
He came to each table and just started hitting them. There were tables and chairs overturned there was a man on the floor bleeding, there was blood on the floor… I fell like five times. My legs felt like jelly. I just thought he was going to come behind me and slash me up.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now assisting with the investigation, police spokesperson Todd Lindgren revealed. The FBI is well-known as the nation’s preeminent domestic counterterrorism agency.
Police Sgt. Rich Weiner said there did not seem to be any “rhyme or reason” for the attack. He did not reveal the name of the suspect and did not explain why the FBI had gotten involved in the investigation.
Micki Zakas, one of the employees of the restaurant, had nothing but good things to say about the owner of the dining establishment.
“Everybody leaves here with a smile,” she told a local NBC affiliate. “It’s a real happy place, he [the owner] has been in business for 26 years, so he’s got a great reputation around here. The restaurant’s got a great reputation.”

This is nuts. Electric vehicles should cost half as much as gasoline cars.
And they would if people wanted them enough for real mass-production to happen.
They don't.

Tesla's just a boutique car IMO. Like a Porsche. Not a car for the average guy.
I know this reply goes back a ways here but after reading Shooters post I was wondering if someone would bring up Tesla...and from what I understand, last I heard Tesla was looking for more investors so they can market a version in the 30k price range.

Apparently, they need money to upgrade and streamline their production line. If this is still true...I dunno call me crazy but why wouldn't the gov't invest in verified tech and help bring it to the masses? That is unless you don't really want to....jus sayin

Because Elon Mosk is a control freak. I have 2 friends that worked at space X for about 5 minutes.
Mosk was willing to share battery tech with the big 3 if they built battery quick change stations around the country, they all turned him down. Supposedly Fiskar is trying to start up again, but have not heard anymore lately.

State Department
American Hellfire missile was diverted to Cuba in 2014

An inert U.S. Hellfire missile sent to Europe for a NATO training exercise in 2014 was mistakenly shipped to Cuba and has been there ever since.

Though the missile does not contain any explosives, The Wall Street Journal reports U.S. officials are concerned that Cuban authorites may share the missile's sensors and targeting technology with countries like Russia, China and North Korea.

Several people familiar with the case told the Journal that the incident is the worst example of sensitive military technology falling into the hands of a nation under U.S. sanctions that they can recall.

According to the Journal report, the missile was properly shipped to Spain, where it was used in the exercise. It was then supposed to be taken on a roundabout journey back to the U.S. via Germany. Instead, the Journal reported the missile was loaded onto an Air France truck that took the cargo to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, where it was put on a flight to Havana.

The Journal reported that federal investigators were working to determine whether the shipment was the result of a major error, or the work of international criminals or spies.

A U.S. official told the Associated Press that manufacturer Lockheed Martin was authorized to export the dummy missile for the training exercise. The official attributed the shipping error to Lockheed's freight forwarders, and said the U.S. was working with Lockheed to get the device back.

The Journal reported that the initial permission for Lockheed to send the missile to Spain came from the State Department, which declined comment
U.S. officials have been urging the Cuban government to return the missile, the Journal said, adding that officials don't suspect that Cuba will try to develop similar weapons technology on its own. The U.S. and Cuba restored diplomatic relations in July 2015 after more than 50 years of hostility.

According to the Defense Department, the Hellfire is a laser-guided, air-to-surface missile that weighs about 100 pounds. It can be deployed from an attack helicopter like the Apache or an unmanned drone like the Predator. The Hellfire training missile contains an incomplete guidance section and has no operational seeker head, warhead, fusing system or rocket motor.

Wait a frakkin second Hoss...
We're really shipping highly classified stuff around the world and we don't have a man riding shotgun on the mission?

I do not feel like this was any accident.

Does our Army make rookie mistakes like this one?

Unaccompanied Alien Children Charged in Execution-Style Murder, Media Calls Them “Baby-Faced Boys”
FEBRUARY 11, 2016

It appears that the recent execution-style murder of a Massachusetts man was committed by two Central American teens that came to the U.S. as Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) under President Obama’s open border free-for-all. Tens of thousands of illegal immigrant minors—mostly from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras—have entered the country through the Mexican border since the influx began in the summer of 2014 and the administration has relocated them nationwide.

News reports indicate that the 17-year-olds charged in the gruesome Massachusetts killing entered the U.S. recently as UAC’s and both have ties to MS-13, according to authorities cited by various outlets. They lived in Everett and one of the teens, Cristian Nunez-Flores, moved to Massachusetts from his native El Salvador a year and a half ago which is when the influx of Central American minors began. His parents remain in El Salvador, according to a local news article. The other gangbanger’s name is Jose Vasquez Ardon and he too is a recent arrival from Central America. Prosecutors say the teens, described in a local news article as “baby-faced boys,” shot a 19-year-old in the head. Both are being held without bail for obvious reasons.

This week two federal lawmakers—a senator and a congressman—are demanding answers from the administration involving how the teens entered the U.S. Specifically, they want to confirm if the gangbangers came as UACs and when exactly they arrived. The legislators, Senator Chuck Grassley, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Congressman Bob Goodlatte, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, also want to know if the administration had knowledge about the suspects’ ties with a criminal gang. “Please provide a complete copy of the alien file for Jose Vasquez Ardon and Cristian Nunez-Flores,” the lawmakers state in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Health and Human Services (HHS), the agency that’s mostly handled the barrage of UACs and the relocation process. “Please provide any other information collected or maintained by DHS and HHS regarding either Jose Vasquez Ardon or Cristian Nunez-Flores,” the request further states.

Shortly after the first batch of UAC’s arrived in mid-2014, Judicial Watch reported that many had ties to gang members in the U.S., specifically MS-13. Homeland Security sources directly involved with the UAC crisis told JW that street gangs, including MS-13, went on a recruiting frenzy at U.S. shelters housing the illegal alien minors and they used Red Cross phones to communicate.

Just a few weeks ago dozens of MS-13 members were indicted in Boston for serious crimes including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, drug trafficking, firearm violations, federal racketeering and immigration offenses.

The affiliation between gangs and the hordes of illegal immigrant youths that the Obama administration keeps taking in is a story Judicial Watch has been reporting for more than a year. Last fall the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that the MS-13 is a top tier gang thanks to the influx of illegal alien gang members that have crossed into the state recently.

U.S. Election Committee Quietly Lets States Verify U.S. Citizenship
FEBRUARY 12, 2016

Recognizing that voter identification is not sufficient, the government agency created by Congress to oversee the administration of elections has quietly reversed itself to allow states to verify U.S. citizenship before permitting voters to register.

It’s a crucial issue that’s left the voter ID argument in the dust considering it’s been proven that identification measures aren’t enough to keep illegal immigrants from voting in U.S. elections. Regardless, liberals and Democrats in Congress assert that requiring voters to provide a government-issued ID to vote discriminates against minorities because they are either too poor or too ignorant to get one. The powerful chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, calls voter ID laws a “full-scale assault” on minority voters designed to “rig” elections.

Nevertheless, election officials in some states have confirmed that requiring ID is not enough to prevent fraud. American citizenship, mandatory to vote in U.S. elections at every level, must also be verified. But first states must get approval from the feds, specifically the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC). The bipartisan commission is tasked with assuring that elections are administered in accordance with federal laws. This includes accrediting voting system test labs, certifying voting equipment and keeping a national mail voter registration form.

For years the EAC has rejected requests from several states to allow the citizenship verification of its registered voters. Judicial Watch has been involved in several of the cases and years ago filed documents with the EAC in support of efforts by Arizona, Kansas and Georgia to require voter registration applicants to provide proof of citizenship. In its filing with the EAC Judicial Watch writes that under Section 8 of the National Voter Registration ACT (NVRA), states are under a federal obligation to assure that non-citizens neither register nor vote. A failure to allow states to require such information would undermine Americans’ confidence that their elections are being conducted fairly and honestly, and would thwart states’ ability to comply with the election integrity obligations imposed by federal law.

Regardless, the EAC has repeatedly rejected the appeal to let states require proof of citizenship from voters. In 2006 it slammed Arizona’s request to add a citizenship documentation requirement to the state-specific instructions. Several years later the commission responded to the same petition from Arizona, Kansas and Georgia in one lengthy rejection document that cites claims by leftist groups that providing proof of citizenship would adversely impact vulnerable and marginalized communities, specifically low-income and people of color. “The requested proof-of-citizenship instructions are inconsistent with the EAC’s prior determinations,” the 2014 ruling states. “In addition, the EAC, both by the staff and duly-constituted quorum of commissioners, has already denied the very same substantive request that is at issue here,” it further states.

In the last few weeks, however, the EAC has quietly reversed itself by approving the petition of three states—Kansas, Georgia and Alabama—to add a citizenship requirement to their voter registration forms. The letters, signed by the EAC’s new executive director, Brian D. Newby, were issued on January 29, 2016. They can be viewed here. The about-face opens the door for other states seeking to preserve the integrity of elections by requiring evidence of voter eligibility before ballots are cast.

U.S. Removed Cuba from Terrorist List After Hezbollah Opened Base on Island
FEBRUARY 16, 2016

A few years before the Obama administration removed Cuba from the U.S. list of nations that sponsor terrorism Hezbollah established an operational base on the communist island, according to intelligence received by Hillary Clinton when she was Secretary of State.

The information comes straight from electronic mail released by the State Department over the weekend as part of ongoing litigation from several groups, including Judicial Watch, and media outlets surrounding Clinton’s use of a private server to send and receive classified information as Secretary of State. This alarming information has been ignored by the mainstream media, which served as the president’s most vocal cheerleader when he established diplomatic ties with Cuba last summer. After appearing for decades on the U.S. government’s list of nations that sponsor terrorism, the Obama administration officially removed it to lay the groundwork for a full renewal of diplomatic ties.

Nevertheless, the administration knew that the radical Lebanon-based Islamic group Hezbollah had opened a base in Cuba, just 90 miles from the U.S, a few years earlier. In a cable dated September 9, 2011 Clinton is informed that “extremely sensitive sources reported in confidence that the Israeli Intelligence and Security Service (Mossad) has informed the leadership of the Israeli Government that Hezbollah is establishing an operational base in Cuba, designed to support terrorist attacks throughout Latin America.” The cable goes on to say that “the Hezbollah office in Cuba is being established under direct orders from the current General Secretary Hasan Nasrallah, who replaced Musawi in 1992.

According to the information available to this source, in preparation for establishment of the base, Nasrallah, working from inside of Lebanon, carried out secret negotiations with representatives of the Cuban Government, particularly the Cuban Intelligence Service (General Intelligence Directorate — DGI), agreeing to , maintain a very low profile inside of Cuba. Nasrallah also promised to take measures to avoid any trail of evidence that could lead back to Cuba in the event of a Hezbollah attack in Latin America.”

Obama’s report to Congress indicating his intent to rescind Cuba’s State Sponsor of Terrorism designation included a certification that Cuba had not provided any support for international terrorism during the previous six-months. It also claimed that Cuba had provided assurances that it will not support acts of international terrorism in the future. This was May, 2015 when the State Department announced the island nation was officially off the terrorist list because it “meets the statutory criteria for rescission.” In the announcement the agency also wrote this: “While the United States has significant concerns and disagreements with a wide range of Cuba’s policies and actions, these fall outside the criteria relevant to the rescission of a State Sponsor of Terrorism designation.” The new Clinton email creates a number of questions relating to the agency’s abrupt move to clear Cuba as a sponsor of terrorism.

Hezbollah’s involvement in Latin America is nothing new and in fact Judicial Watch has been reporting it for years. In 2013 JW published a story about Hezbollah infiltrating the southwest U.S. border by joining forces with Mexican drug cartels that have long operated in the region. The recently released Clinton email, states that a “particularly sensitive source” confirmed that in the 1980s Hezbollah carried out similar contingency casing operations against U.S., British, and Israeli facilities and businesses in Latin America, Europe and North Africa. In 1992 Islamic Jihad, acting on behalf of Hezbollah, bombed the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina in retaliation for the death of Hezbollah General Secretary Abbas al-Musawi, the email says.
