I understand the theoretical reliability increase that should result from having 2 extractors instead of one, but I don't know of any other brand that uses 2 extractors. Will the 500/590 series still run if one extractor breaks?

Has anyone had their Magpul forend stippled? I really like mine, but when it's hot out and my hands are sweaty it's a bit slippery. I've emailed a couple guys who offer Glock frame stippling to ask if they would do a 590 forend but never heard back.

I have an S&J extension on my 590 (standard barrel). Last night I tried installing the sling plate that came with the extension. When I slide the plate over the extension, there is a gap between the top of the plate and the bottom of the barrel. I am not sure if my plate is possibly defective...

Has anyone ever shortened an 835 barrel? I found one for sale cheap near me, was wondering if I can have it cut down to 18" and refinished for my 590. Not sure if the ribs will "line up" with the end of the barrel around 18" though.

I will go against the grain and say I prefer a forend mounted light. Easier to keep your thumb on the switch while cycling the action, and if you use something like the Magpul forend there are a myriad of methods and positions to mount in. I use the Magpul MLok forend and an Inforce WML, works...

Does Mossberg make an 18.5" vent rib barrel? I think vent ribs look cool and wouldn't mind raising the bead a little. If not I guess my only option is to shorten a longer barrel.
