Is this normal?

Hi all, I was cleaning my mav88 after range time and noticed my reliever got chipped.

I mean understand there will be some bluing ware off from sliding action but a chip!?

Have anyone experienced this before? Should I worry?

That kind of peening (it is not a chip) seems to be evidence of some machining defect. I would ask them to give it a good inspection under their consumer warranty.

I'm having a difficult time judging the photos.

I am not sure if their receivers are cast or forged/machined lowers.

I have seen a few instances of AR recievers having defects. I think this falls into that category.
