Modify a choke tube

I have a extra full knurled choke tube for my Mossberg that is not used. Has anyone put a choke tube in a lathe bored and lapped the ID to change the constriction? I have access to the equipment and would like the quick change of the knurled tube.

I have not heard of this being done but if your skills are up to the task, go for it.

I would just buy a different tube with a knurled end. I am typically a DIY'er but for something like this I think I would just buy another tube.

Should only take a few minutes truing everything up on the lathe. I don't see why you couldn't bore a bigger hole in it if you're wanting to open the choke up on it.
