Sustainability - Agenda 21 coming to America

GunnyGene

Racist old man
BANNED
The Ultimate Socialist dream. Totalitarian control everything and everyone in the name of Environmental Sustainability. Implement UN Agenda 21 across the board. Eliminate all freedom. If you think my opinion of what this means is overblown, I refer you to Agenda 21. http://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/

EXCLUSIVE: The Obama administration should dramatically reorganize the relationships between America’s federal departments and agencies, and overcome legal barriers to help install the nebulous principle of “sustainability” across government, the economy and society at large, according to a new National Research Council study sponsored by many of the federal departments that would be most affected.

The study also calls for installing sustainability in the “culture of government” and recommends that the U.S. look for inspiration to a number of “national sustainable development strategies” adopted under the United Nation’s controversial Agenda 21, a highly detailed blueprint for reworking the global economy and environment that was reaffirmed at last year’s Rio + 20 summit on sustainable development.

PS: If you're not inclined to pour thru the official documents at the UN site, here's Agenda 21 in one easy lesson:

In One Easy Lesson

Awareness of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development is racing across the nation as citizens in community after community are learning what their city planners are actually up to. As awareness grows, I am receiving more and more calls for tools to help activists fight back. Many complain that elected officials just won’t read detailed reports or watch long videos. “Can you give us something that is quick, and easy to read that we can hand out,” I’m asked.

So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I’ve also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.

A word of caution, use this as a starter kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. That’s how it must be done. The information below is only your first step. Happy hunting.

What is Sustainable Development?

According to its authors, the objective of sustainable development is to integrate economic, social and environmental policies in order to achieve reduced consumption, social equity, and the preservation and restoration of biodiversity. Sustainablists insist that every societal decision be based on environmental impact, focusing on three components; global land use, global education, and global population control and reduction.

Social Equity (Social injustice)

Social justice is described as the right and opportunity of all people “to benefit equally from the resources afforded us by society and the environment.” Redistribution of wealth. Private property is a social injustice since not everyone can build wealth from it. National sovereignty is a social injustice. Universal health care is a social injustice. All part of Agenda 21 policy.

Economic Prosperity

Public Private Partnerships (PPP). Special dealings between government and certain, chosen corporations which get tax breaks, grants and the government’s power of
Eminent Domain to implement sustainable policy. Government-sanctioned monopolies.

Local Sustainable Development policies

Smart Growth, Wildlands Project, Resilient Cities, Regional Visioning Projects, STAR Sustainable Communities, Green jobs, Green Building Codes, “Going Green,” Alternative Energy, Local Visioning, facilitators, regional planning, historic preservation, conservation easements, development rights, sustainable farming, comprehensive planning, growth management, consensus.

Who is behind it?

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (formally, International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives). Communities pay ICLEI dues to provide “local” community plans, software, training, etc. Addition groups include American Planning Council, The Renaissance Planning Group, International City/ County Management Group, aided by US Mayors Conference, National Governors Association, National League of Cities, National Association of County Administrators and many more private organizations and official government agencies. Foundation and government grants drive the process.

Where did it originate?

The term Sustainable Development was first introduced to the world in the pages a 1987 report (Our Common Future) produced by the United Nations World Commission on Environmental and Development, authored by Gro Harlem Brundtland, VP of the World Socialist Party. The term was first offered as official UN policy in 1992, in a document called UN Sustainable Development Agenda 21, issued at the UN’s Earth Summit, today referred to simply as Agenda 21.

What gives Agenda 21 Ruling Authority?

More than 178 nations adopted Agenda 21 as official policy during a signing ceremony at the Earth Summit. US president George H.W. Bush signed the document for the US. In signing, each nation pledge to adopt the goals of Agenda 21. In 1995, President Bill Clinton, in compliance with Agenda 21, signed Executive Order #12858 to create the President’s Council on Sustainable Development in order to “harmonize” US environmental policy with UN directives as outlined in Agenda 21. The EO directed all agencies of the Federal Government to work with state and local community governments in a joint effort “reinvent” government using the guidelines outlined in Agenda 21. As a result, with the assistance of groups like ICLEI, Sustainable Development is now emerging as government policy in every town, county and state in the nation.

Gunny, sorry it's taken me so long to respond... but I've been reading and thinking about this all day now. While I knew about Agenda 21, I've never really made the tie between this U.N agenda and U.S policy. Its clear now that many of the recent EPA laws that are crippling the coal industry are linked to this greater scheme of Government takeover.

I am sickened and worried about this entire document... especially referring to "Eminent Domain"... i.e the government seizure of your private property in the name of "environmental sustainability" and social equality.

I've been weary of buying into conspiracy theories, but there are too many warning signs that are pointing to international government takeover of all social and private aspects of our life. This document is in direct violation of all our guaranteed basic human rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

I will have to do my best to educate everyone I can about this subject... because I'm afraid for my children's future and their rights to the liberties that we still enjoy. I'm ready to build my cabin in the woods where no-one will find me... well, maybe....

Man, more garbage that will be shoved down our throats. This is all the Global Harmonization that was talked about a few years ago. Make all the planet one big happy country...but wait, it will establish what is basically a caste system where those with power become more powerful and those without become weaker and more constrained. God help us all...especially our kids and their kids...

If you want to see just how deeply this cancer has invaded the US, go to whitehouse.gov and search on "sustainability".

We all know how that ended.

Humans are a possessive and competitive species. There's a reason that this type of socioeconomic system has never been able to sustain itself. If everyone woke up tomorrow at the same starting line it would not take very long to differentiate the wolves from the sheep.

The difficulty in combating this agenda, is that countries, industries, companies, and individuals who support it are rewarded in many ways. Grants, cheap loans, bailouts, lucrative govt contracts, favorable press coverage etc., etc. Those who don't are punished - no grants, loans, bailouts, contracts, or are hit with expensive and ridiculous regulations that put them out of business - coal for example, or unnecessary project delays, restrictions on use of federal land, multiple IRS audits, unfavorable and vicious press coverage, and so on.

It's all very obvious once you connect the dots.

I had sometimes laughed at "Agenda 21" when my father would bring it up. However, now that I am a little more aware of what is happening in the world around me and more so in my country.... I can believe it.

I understand. I had the same reaction years ago when I first heard about it.
It does sound like some kinda paranoid EOTWAWKI BS. But it's as real as a heart attack. Truth really is stranger than fiction.

I think if you took a "man on the street poll', that you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who had ever heard of Agenda 21. Most would probably think it was some scifi movie. The very serious people who are implementing it like it this way. No opposition to deal with.

Agenda 21 is definitely real and under the radar. I got this from Wiki. Note that since it is not a treaty, it is being implemented with Senate approval:
The United States is a signatory country to Agenda 21, but because Agenda 21 is not a treaty, the Senate was unable to hold a formal debate or vote on it. It is therefore not considered to be law under Article VI of the U.S. Constitution. Several congressmen and senators, however, have spoken in Congress in support of Agenda 21;[citation needed] these include Representative Nancy Pelosi, Senator John Kerry, and Senator Harry Reid.[13]

In the United States, over 528 cities are members of ICLEI, an international sustainability organization that helps to implement the Agenda 21 and Local Agenda 21 concepts across the world. The United States has nearly half of the ICLEI's global membership of 1,200 cities promoting sustainable development at a local level.[14] The United States also has one of the most comprehensively documented Agenda 21 status reports.[15]

A large part of what's driving this is jealousy. Jealousy of the US and other 1st world countries standard of living. But since it's impossible to bring the entire planet up to our standard of living, the people running show have decided to "seek some middle ground". What that means is equal misery for everyone - except for the ones in charge of course.

And there is also a large dose of Malthusian paranoia thrown in to justify excessive conservation of whatever (save it for future generations, etc.), and population control (preferably something less than 1 billion worldwide).

From other countries that is true. Don't forget the people here that are ashamed of what America was built into in our prime. They are embarrassed to be an American. Being an American only means the negative to them. "We couldn't have built ourselves unless it was on the backs of the oppressed". That wealth must be redistributed. When China takes over as the top super power in the world they will find out what oppression is all about. Agenda 21?...they can shove it up the ol' poop chute.

True. There are those who feel guilty about success. I'm not one of those, and I doubt anybody on this forum is. :)

Here's the kind of ignorant crap the econuts do. I wonder if they have any idea where all the 'stuff' we all depend on comes from. Some magical place in another dimension probably.  And this kind of thing is applauded by the Agenda 21 morons.

On July 10, 2013, the following video was posted on eco-activist Andrea Ladenthin’s Facebook page and then reposted to YouTube by Media Trackers. The video shows a group of militant eco-activists verbally threatening workers and attempting to shut down a mining project in northern Wisconsin.

The environmentalists tell the miners that they'll "f***ing destroy" them. They threaten, “Do you think we will be the only ones coming? You won’t get anything done as long as we’re here."

One female in the video can be seen repeatedly yelling at the workers, "Get on the other side or die." Another calls one of the workers a “country boy, racist piece of sh*t.”

Media Trackers Brian Sikma told Breitbart News the site under attack is in Iron County, WI and is owned by Gogebic Taconite.

Gogebic Taconite has recently hired armed security guards from Bulletproof Securities “to monitor the company’s land, which is trespassed on by illegal campers — vandals that oppose the mine,” according to one company spokesman.

National Review reports one Democrat state senator said, “I’m appalled,” regarding the use of the security personnel, claiming, “There is no evidence to justify their presence.
