Finally got my new Mossberg 500 in my hands couple of days ago, and today I went out to buy some rounds to do the break-in, i bought 2 boxes of Remington birdshot #8 to do this, and for home defense, i thought of loading the shotgun with 2 shells of #4 buck, and 4 shells of 00 buck. I wasn't paying enough attention when i put the #4's in my ammo box, and ended up taking home 2 boxes of Winchester Turkey shot #4 instead of buckshot. The box says 1260fps, 1 1/2 oz, what the heck are this turkey shot loads? just birdshot with more punch ?

Shot sizes 4,5,6,& sometimes 7 are allowed for turkey hunting. With a good choke you can get good patterning from the turkey shot, tighter the better, cuz you wanna pop that suckers head full of lead.
