930 SPX vs JM Pro

Looking at the picture, what is the point of the notch in the end of the elevator? Why not just stamp it flush or cut it flush when its made at the factory? And maybe a add a smooth bevel at the end of the elevator to facilitate loading

The cut-out is intended to allow the rim of the shotshell to drop free of the lifter and level the shell off with the mag tube to prevent an angle that would jam the shell against the surface of the tube entrance. It's a pretty old design and was a lot more important to function when "high brass" shells had much more metal along the shell surface than they do now...

Good thread! :) The JMpro 9-shot will be the next SA shotgun I will buy for the arsenal. As mentioned, for under $600 it is an EXCELLENT out-of-the-box value. Someone here posted a most worthy of viewing video of Jerry and dot Lena Miculek describing and putting the 930 through its paces. LINK Watch It! :p Jerry is a freaking GOD! (of projectile disbursement! :D)
