To bad he had to trow away the shotgun when it was empty because he had no extra ammo ? I dont know how it is set up in cop cars generally ? One full mag of 5-6 shots and thats it ?
Unless one equips it with a sidesaddle, depending on policy, then more ammo is either in the side door pocket or in the trunk. Very few have the luxury of an active shooter bag or vest with velcro shotgun cards. My 590 has eight plus a 4-rd sidesaddle. I'm one of a very few I have ever seen who mounts a sidesaddle.
I hope you never have to use all 12 rounds nite.
