Thanks fellas, I'm the proud owner of a 500a with an 18.5" barrell,wood stock. Very basic and to the point.
 
Can't beat KISS (keep it stupid simple). I know I want to build a Mossberg 500 "trench gun" with wood furniture and a heat shield.
