Pdx1-12 spotted at Academy

I was at Academy today hoping to find some 9mm but no luck. Anyway I looked around and saw a box of Hornady 40sw 165 gr FTX so I grabbed it. Then I went looking at shot shells and I spotted the PDX1 12 ten round boxes. Those with three OO pellets and an one oz slug. It was $13 for a box of ten so I figured WTH I bought one.

I don't really see what's so special about them. :?

It's some good schidt. And that was a pretty good price.

I saw some Youtube on it and what impressed me is the slug in the ballistic gel. The slug had flattened that it's big as a half dollar coin.

Who needs the pellets?

EDIT: I stand corrected, I meant a size of a quarter coin.

It's definitely some heavy hit'n stuff, but not sure about special. Even when most ammo was scarce I could still find the PDX1-12 at just about any retailer around here...
