I wanted to give a run down of the 165 gr Xtreme brand (hush) bullets. (not loaded ammo)

They were purchased (black Friday sale) 11-24.

Delivered 12-12. 18 days

Not really stellar shipping times. But that isn't really what the topic is about either.

Upon opening the box, I admit they are really pretty.

I randomly picked 3 to weigh and measure. Below were the extremes. All 3 were pretty inconsistent really.

I have a load that I am wanting to try, using 2.8 gr titegroup, COL = 1.15 territory to see how it performs.

Once I verify velocity and proper stabilization, I'll put a few through my suppressor(s) to see how they sound, but live fire wont' be today with that storm blowing in from the north. It's colder than a witches tit outside right now.
 
I'm going to test it in multiple firearms.

But mainly for my suppressed 9's.

AR9--6.5" barrel
Scorpion (which honestly is wearing a 16 inch rifle barrel now)
mp5--5.5" barrel
uzi (another 16 inch barrel).

Will see what they do in the various handguns as well.

I checked the difference in length of the 165 gr and 147 gr bullets that I had been using. The 165's are only .073" longer

I had a good load of 147 subs worked up with 3.2 gr. titegroup seated at 1.10".

So, in order to try to keep roughly the same pressures, I loaded up 5 of the 165's col 1.12 and loaded up 5 at 1.15" @ 2.8 gr TG.

I'm going to shoot the 1.15 seated bullets first just to make sure there are no pressure signs or for anything funny going on, and if they shoot them well, I'll try the ones I seated deeper, but going by the 147 data I had been using, is keeping roughly the same depth over the powder.

You know how I am at trying to be cautious.

I like the 1.12" col and 2.8 gr the best so I'm going to load up about a hundred of them the first chance that I get to replace the rounds in my HD mags with them.

The battery in my chrony died before I got the chance to check the velocity with my integral 9 which has the ~7 inch barrel, but I did get 3 different readings through the 16" uzi before it went kaput. I was getting 903 fps average from it.

And it wasn't what I consider to be really loud even without the can, although my hearing isn't what it used to be. With the can, it sounded amazing.

They were all stable, accuracy was good (considering I was standing off hand and mostly just shooting in a circle to make sure they weren't tumbling or yawing).

Cycled correctly.

This load is a keeper.
 
Shot some out of the 6.75" barreled AR9 to get some velocities.

For the record, that barrel is also ported, and I was getting about 50 fps decrease with the porting when checking the 147's. So, I expect that a non-ported barrel will add fps to the numbers that I was getting this evening.

On another note, I need to make a tater tunnel. That would be a lot cheaper than making gel to see what depth of penetration they're getting.
 
Did some more shooting with some of the 165 gr reloads again today. Just a little more powder went a long way. .2 gr powder added about 50fps more velocity.
