Hello,
I am about to pick up my Mossberg Patriot 308 walnut from the store. I want to have a removable bipod. So I want to use a weaver adapter attached to the stock on the front swivel stud.
But, I heard, that this stud gets loose very easy, since it's just screwed in the wood. So, is there any other way, not destroying the new stock?
I was thinking about replacing the stud by a custom 'bolt stud', but this would require drilling through the hole where the stud was screwed in.
The Mossberg customer service discouraged me. Would it change the performance of the rifle (no part would touch the barrel anyway)?
Anybody attached a Weaver adapter to the bottom of the stock?
I would appreciate if anybody could weigh in on it.
Cheers,
Jack
