Coyote pelts

Depends if you want the pelt I use a 22 250 some of my buddies do well with 223 and of corse there is the question of what distance are you looking to shoot

Not if you like bits and pieces of pelts.

your best bet is 150 gr or lower FMJ . If you reload, load them slow if not look for rounds designed for M1 Garand , they are fmj and not that hot loaded. Still if you get hung up in major bones its going to bust em up and drag some out. If you snake it through the ribs, it should be fine......FMJ . The 30-06 is the most versatile round on Earth but as with all "jack of all trades" it wont do as well as other things designed to do the job. Ammo selection is your friend with a 30-06

As for the distance the coyotes down here are real skidish 150 200 yards is about as close as they will get and the area I'm in is pretty flat more mesquite than hills lol
