Fireing shorts

I see no real reason you couldn't fire a .22 short out of your Mossberg 802 plinkster but it may not feed properly. I could be wrong so if anyone else knows otherwise please chime in.

Being a semi auto, the shorts will likely or most definitely jam not having enough powder to move the bolt correctly..

Yea you will likely have to clear each round manually.

I know this is an old string, but I cant help but reply anyway. The 802 is NOT a semi-auto. Since it is a bolt action shooting lighter loads will not have any affect on feeding, extraction, or cycling of the bolt. With all that said, I know my owners manual says to shoot only .22lr with this gun. This advice is also clearly stamped on the barrel.
