July 4th, Independence Day, commemorates is the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by delegates from the 13 colonies. On the 4th, the Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration of Independence. This is the day we celebrate the birth of the United States of America.

There is nothing better on this special day than taking a few minutes with your family or friends to read the Declaration of Independence. A link to the National Archives can be found below.

I used to do this every year. Lately, if the "kids" are around, I'll start reading it to them unannounced. :D And it doesn't have to be the 4th... There is an app for that, btw--also the Constitution. :)
