The one state that didn't have a thread yet. So I'll be first. Recent first time shotgun owner - a Maverick 88 12 Gauge. I'm not an active hunter nor have I ever shot trap / skeet. I'm interested in any shotgun-friendly ranges in the greater Kansas City Area or reasonably close thereto. There is one very close called Powder Creek, but their website says "no short barrel shotguns" - although they didn't define what constitutes short. Someday I plan to take the AR-10 out to Spearpoint to see if I can still shoot the long distances.

Anyway, any feedback from anyone in or near the area...or within the state....is appreciated.

There is an outdoor range near me that is actually shotgun-only. Powder Creek offers the traditional shooting stands and some open target areas. I have not been there yet, as I need to get a ruling on their rule "no short-barreled shotguns". I'm hoping they mean the Kel-Tec variety and not my little 18" Maverick.

My guess would be PG-only guns like the Shockwave or your Maverick with ONLY a pistol-grip.
