Maverick 88 problems

I do not, sn# MV29757x
Someone installed a tacStar slide and I'm wondering if the rods are the same? or if the TacStar has changed the length? It looks as if it rods came back a bit further it would raise the stop and actuate the interrupter as well? That's why I'm here. You all have more experience with this SG then I do or at least did??? Lol

Are you sure the slide arms are installed correctly? Your last pic look's like it is on the wrong side of the interrupter?????
My eyes aren't as good as they use to be.

The stop is riding on top of the slide arm. Isn't the stop supposed to be pushed into the side in order to allow the shell to come into the carrier? There is no play for the stop to move up and down just in and out? It looks like the stop is out a bit over the rod. It's not able to be measured due to where it is but it would appear that there is at most 1/32" but I do feel that it isn't exactly on top.

Ain't this a Bitch! I Never thought about moving the Arms from one side to the other. That is my Fault. I didn't put these parts on and Assumed they arms were in the right side.
I did as "old Mossy said and switched the arms and after all the time I had you all waste it is now operating correctly.
I will be honored to stay with this group. After all this time you all helped me.
To be honest I was wondering g if the arms were to short but lol no they were on the Wrong side!!!

Thank you All.
You guys are Great. I should have checked that instead of assuming!

Well, I have another problem. Lol
Everything is doing good but when I eject a shell it doesn't always load another? I have to cycle it a couple of times to get it to cycle some of the shells?

Glad you got it working.
Here's a great video.....https://mossbergowners.com/forum/index.php?threads/mossberg-500-disassembly.26/

All shells giving you a problem or just a certain brand?

Check to see if the action arms are bent???? Would be my first thing to look at after what this gun has been through.
If they aren't bent,,,cartridge stop.

It looks as if the action arms may be wrong? Where rhe arm for the interrupter should push the interrupter up to release the shell and fall to the stop it isn't moving up far enough. When it get to the stop it doesn't look like the action are (on the stop side) isn't pulling the stop in far enough to let go of the shell?

You can try and bend the cartridge stop so it doesn't cover the shell as much. (do small bends towards the front lip) Try it,,,bend it,,,,try it,,, A little bit at a time.
...or you can call Mossberg and they will send you a new one.

It's working great now, but I fear that it's going to get worse soon. The nub that rides on the rod is wearing something fearce. When they did the modifications on this I don't know what was replaced. This piece seems to be substandard. This was black when I started and it is getting eaten away fast. There are actually shavings coming off.

Is this supposed to happen? This isn't something that would be changed to modify this weapon is it?
I would clean and give it all some lite oiling and keep cycling it for awhile and see if the "shavings"stop.
