Hello just joined, will be looking for info on a 500E I have. Retired twice, back to work now, shortgun,rifle,handgun owner. Live in rural area of NY by lake Ontario, between Niagara Falls and Rochester. Thanks for having me and I hope to be able to add to the discussions.

Mossberg 500E home security

I have a Mossberg 500E with a pistol grip forend, synthetic stock and 18.5 barrel with a ported end on the barrel marked home security. I also have a 26 full choke ribbed barrel for it. Is the 18.5 barrel factory? Or made up, and if factory does anybody know the model number of the home security...

If I remember correctly, it's a Mossberg 500 Tactical - HS410 Home Security.
 
Thank you old mossy that is exactly what it is. It has a barrel end that I don’t think I have seen before, a spreadet choke.
 
Spreader choke opens up the shot pattern for close range on a .410.
