For this project, you will need:
Grovetec Snap Hook Multi-Adaptor GTSW281
https://grovtec.com/collections/attachments-adaptors/products/snap-hook-multi-adaptors
(These bases accept any standard push button swivel.)
Using pilot hole as a guide, drill 1/2” (.500) (or 33/64” (.515) ) hole using Forstner bit to 9/16” to 5/8”D.
Note: hole depth should be exact so button base fits flush at top of hole so base and swivel work properly. If you don’t have a depth gauge, cut a coffee stirrer etc. to accurately match depth of base. Take your time — cut, measure, cut, measure to proper depth. Frequently, stop to clean hole out.
Tap hole with a 9/16”-18UNF-2B tap.
Use CR-V 1/4” screwdriver hex bit or hex wrench to screw button base into grip. Check for fit. Make sure it is flush. If not, you will need to fill hole with removed drilled filings or other plastic/rubber material to insure flush fit.
Once you have that nailed down, remove button base, degrease threads, coat lightly with JB Weld, reinstall and let cure.
Voila... you have a grip swivel base that can use an HK hook or button swivel as needed!
