South Sudan update

A couple of updates about this business in Sudan.

A senior Defense Department official, speaking on background, said the wounded service members are in the Navy, but could not say if they were special operations troops. The Associated Press, however, is reporting all four of the injured troops are Navy SEALS.

Three CV-22s, the Air Force Special Operations variant of the tilt-rotor aircraft, were hit with small-arms fire while approaching a site to evacuate U.S. personnel in the South Sudanese capital of Bor. The aircraft aborted their mission and diverted to an airfield outside the country, the Pentagon said.

Comparisons are being made between the Rwanda genocide a few years ago and what's going on in S. Sudan.

And company of Marines are being moved closer to the area.

A senior U.S. Defense official told Fox News that 150 Marines are being moved from Moron, Spain, to Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, in case the State Department asks for their assistance in evacuating U.S. citizens left in South Sudan. So far, no request from the department has yet come in to evacuate the roughly 100 U.S. citizens left in the country.
