I'm taking this from another post. I feel it deserves its own thread and is worth the time to look into. Within the report there are a number of links which I'll add to the text as I'm able.

This stuff is from our own Department of Homeland Security, not some foreign entitiy. There is a war being waged on traditional values and people who look just like you and me are being identified as potential terrorists or as having terrorist intent. In a recent series of video PSA's by the DHS in the "See Something, Say Something" campaign, the majority of terrorists portrayed were white Americans.

Check out these posters, or are they "propaganda"? We actually have some of these posters in and around our municipal building and police office.

"Homeland Security Report Lists ‘Liberty Lovers’ As Terrorists"

Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority, reverent of individual liberty” deemed domestic threat

Paul Joseph Watson

A new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

Entitled Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970-2008 (PDF), the study was produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland. The organization was launched with the aid of DHS funding to the tune of $12 million dollars.

While largely omitting Islamic terrorism - the report fails completely to mention (Parenthetical by me "rossignol" this last link is also a good read and indicts the Tea Part as potential terrorists), the 1993 World Trade Center bombing – the study focuses on Americans who hold beliefs shared by the vast majority of conservatives and libertarians and puts them in the context of radical extremism.

The report takes its definitions from a 2011 study entitled Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism, produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, in which the following characteristics are used to identify terrorists.

- Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;

- Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;

- People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);

- Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;

- Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;

- People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

The report also lists people opposed to abortion and “groups that seek to smite the purported enemies of God and other evildoers” as terrorists.

As we have exhaustively documented on numerous occasions, federal authorities and particularly the Department of Homeland Security have been involved in producing a deluge of literature which portrays liberty lovers and small government advocates as terrorists.

The most flagrant example was the infamous 2009 MIAC report, published by the Missouri Information Analysis Center and first revealed by Infowars, which framed Ron Paul supporters, libertarians, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag, as potential terrorists.

The rush to denounce legitimate political beliefs as thought crimes, or even mundane behaviors, by insinuating they are shared by terrorists, has accelerated in recent months.

Under the FBI’s Communities Against Terrorism program, the bulk purchase of food is labeled as a potential indication of terrorist activity, as is using cash to pay for a cup of coffee, and showing an interest in web privacy when using the Internet in a public place.

As we have documented on numerous occasions, the federal government routinely characterizes mundane behavior as extremist activity or a potential indicator of terrorist intent. As part of its ‘See Something, Say Something’ campaign, the Department of Homeland Security educates the public that generic activities performed by millions of people every day, including using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application,” are all potential signs of terrorist activity.

The DHS stoked controversy last year when it released a series of videos to promote the See Something, Say Something campaign in which almost all of the terrorists portrayed in the PSAs were white Americans.

The links are worth clicking on to investigate for your self. I dont encourage anyone to take my word for it without researching on your own. I post and try to back up my posts with as much info as I'm able that is verifiable or validated.

Conspiracy mode; Off.
Rossignol, Out.

I'm glad you used that one link I posted for a thread of it's own. I had debated doing that myself.

I think one of my biggest disappointments is how few Americans will even notice this stuff let alone be upset or do anything about it. Many of the descriptors would be used to describe the Founding Father's. Speaking of the Founder's, I had read that flying the original 13 star "Betsy Ross" (relative of Rossignol?) is also now considered a negative.

Another thing that I don't like is that this stuff seems to only slow down during a Republican administration. It doesn't stop. It's like it has a self preserving life of it's own regardless of who's running the show.

Yep, glad you found the report!

Youre right about so many people not paying attention, its something I encounter nearly everyday. They just think I'm a crazy conspiracy theorist, crazy right wing radical extremist. And according to this report, that identifies me as a terrorist or person with terrorist intent.

I love this country and its Constitution, its come farther in less time than any other country in the world. Its because of the individual liberties and freedoms folks have accomplished so much, I adore passing or failing on ones own merit. We arent meant to be equal and certainly dont need the govt to step in to level the field for everyone. Why the heck would anyone bother trying to do anything if ones success would be taken forcibly and distributed among those who would otherwise fail if left to their own devices? Its like a bunch of kids getting A's in class and some get F's so the teachers knock the A's down to C's to bring the F's up to C's also. If you knew you would always get a C no matter what, why bother going out of your way to make Honors Scociety and aim for the top of the class? Some are driven and obsessed with success and filled with ambition and desire all the time! Some are less than motivated to succeed at all. My son has made a goal to get into more and more honors classes as he goes along. He entered high school in only two honors classes which wasnt enough for him. He stayed in marching band, concert band competed with his class, traveled, tutored in algebra, was in the drama club as well, never brought "homework" home and still manged to have a 3.8 GPA at the end of the year. This year, nearly all his classes are honors classes. He challenges himself to do more and to do better! Some will never do any of this, not even in their adult lives. These are among the things that make this country so awesome!!!

Kinda rambled on there for a minute.

No, Rossignol isnt conected to Ross... much of my family came from the Acadians of Canada, who were also fighting the English back then.

Republicans arent a whole lot better when theyre still career politicians.

Within this article, I was amazed with how much of many of us consider to be normal everyday life can be considered terrorist intent or as having the potential to be terrorism. I followed all the links and still have some reading to do, but I took the time to expound upon the one from MIAC because its been confirmed as being used to train officers how to spot potential terrorism activity in the mundaneness of peoples lives. Just using cash rather than credit or debit, prefering privacy, flying a flag or just "certain" flags, anti big govt speech and/or being suspicious of big govt, writing on a piece of paper in public, etc... it goes on and on and even discusses certain conspiracy therories associated with what they (the LEO's taught these things) have come to consider domestic terrorism. I bet people who buy camo are in there somewhere... Probably people registered on gun forums too!

Its shocking how many of us can be/or are considered by these definitions to be terrorists.

Look, there are only something like 115 days till the next election. So much craziness and the country is split right down the middle on much of this stuff, and very hard to either side. Something has to give one way or the other and neither side will let it pass easily. Neither side will conceed defeat easily. There is however a very clear choice ahead of us. One is continue taking the country the route of socialism/fascism where the govt mandates the simplest aspects of our lives, or the other is to vote away from this madness and try and restore America to the great shining city on a hill, the most prosperous nation on the planet , known as a place of hope around the world to which all of its citizens flock.

Anyhow, we have a clear and distinct choice approaching. In little time, the days come and go with hardly noticing, days run into days. Be vigilant and not tired, keep your eyes open and speak the truth. Leave the personal out of it and stick to the facts.

As much as I hate to say it, people are generally cowards. I didn't even need to read everything posted to know that most are willing to trade their individual liberties now than fight for them. It has been proven throughout history. We don''t learn from past mistakes and will repeat them. Only when TSHTF will they come crying why didn't anyone do anything? I look at our present political situation as just another example of the human condition and believe that no matter what we do as individuals, society as a whole will continue to be led by the nose of those with wealth and power and think of theirselves over others. No Democracy has ever lasted because of corruption. Ours is no different. It's just a matter of "when" not "if", someone comes to your door or a neighbors and tramples their rights guaranteed by the Constitution. I live in a large city. I have very few liberties as it is already. All I can do is vote and hope for the best because a person like myself, somewhat educated, knowledgeable and honest to the point of stupidity will be labeled a "threat" and will be one of the first to be visited. It's happened before and it will happen again. I fear for the lives of my children. For I truely believe that they will grow up in a world much less friendly than the one I did.
