So the Donald says he is pro 2A and he carries. He says he is conservative. Here is a list of anti gun democrats that he has given money to:

Not trying to influence your decision, but I went with Cruz for our caucus. Since I didn't have a polling station in my county this time, I opted to do an absentee so I didn't have to drive for 2 hours to draw a circle.

I believe he is pro gun. I also believe he will make contributions to anyone who would farther his interest. I plan to vote for him. Take care. Tom Worthington

He will say whatever it takes to get in....

I'm goin with Ted...

I gave a presentation at an upscale gun club 2 years ago. When I was done Eric Trump, his son sought me out to discuss my presentation.

From that discussion, I belive that the Trumps are all pro 2A.

I also understand that to conduct business at the level he does that you need to support any and all politicians that may help your projects move along.

I am a registeted Republican and in CT that means you can vote in the Republican primary. Trump will get my vote there.

Whoever makes it to the BIG DANCE on the R ticket will get my vote. The Dems need to lose! Plain and simple!!!

The Dems dont care in the end which one of them gets the nomination. They will all vote for whoever the party says to.

Hopefully the R's can do the same! The country depends on it!

He is at his core an international business man. I find it plausible that he has done whatever necessary to make things happen. Including supporting politicians that may or may not represent his political beliefs.

That said, at the very least his own policies and beliefs have changed over the years. When he first announced he was running, I was scared. He has in the past supported gun bans. He was pro choice and his beliefs on abortion were very liberal.

In supporting financially people you would fundamentally disagree with to me shows a lack of principled character. So it's time to draw a line in the sand for him and say what he means and mean what he says. If he can do that, I can support him, but no matter what- the next person to hold that office can't be sanders or Clinton. Or jarret, or Biden, or Bloomberg, or any of their ilk.

If the nominee is trump, then trump has to win. There is no alternative. There is no other option. The implication of failure is socialism which would have been rightly called tyranny by our founders and framers.

Trump is a business tycoon, a reality TV show mogul, a megalomaniac, a Progressive Democrat in most of his actions and words, and is out for his own gain !!

The whole primary / caucus process has been about him...his ego...his misinterpretation of the truth of his background stance on war, abortion, and his willingness to pay off or destroy anyone who disagrees with him. He thinks his power and money can solve any issue that comes his way...

He speaks on any of the topics in very general terms...never once being specific about any one topic except to say "We will make America Great Again"...NOT very encouraging when you want to know what his platform is when comparing candidates...

Trump is currently ripping apart the GOP...making it a sideshow instead about the issues that affect the nation...he is decisive, rude, belligerent, and NOT what we want in a president.

I would like to see Cruz get the nomination...with Rubio a close second. All the others might as well drop out and throw in behind one of them...to BEAT Trump.

Just my 2 cents...

What I have found in my experiences, people don't change. They may cover things up better for a while, but they don't change. So, if there is something you truly don't like about someone, the odds that things will suddenly be different, are not likely to happen.

When he first announced he was running, I was scared. He has in the past supported gun bans.

Yes he has. And you should never compromise your principles for anything.

Anyone that does, have none.

Exactly, see above.

He has already shown me all I need to see or know of him. He is out for numero uno. And will crawl into bed with anyone that furthers numero unos goals and bottom line. I will not be voting for him, even if he is the nominee.

Not saying I would vote for the latter, but I am no longer willing to accept "the lesser of the two evils". This country needs a leader and that has been lacking that for far too long.

Yeah, I agree with the above posts gentlemen. I've prefered Cruz from the time he announced.

Although I'm not a fan I would support Trump over either Clinton or Sanders. I wish he was more issue oriented in his attacks. The attacks since Iowa seem to be childish.

I thought the comments from he Pope were off base and only strengthened Trump. To the Pope I would say to listen to the Charlie Daniels song "In America", particularly the line "you outside people best leave us alone".

I've dealt with building developers and contractors over 40 years now, and Trump is the best and worst of that world.

It's a battle where the building officials and associated interests have everyone in a catch-22 situation.

Without political support you are nothing so the big boys bribe with every legal subterfuge. The top dawgs have the cash to make their own "law". They can buy the image they need.

How Trump's class succeed is by knowing mostly how to shmooze people and hire those who will work cheap, & are really willing to engage in the subterfuge by which he merrilly defrauds whomever suits his need.

He's a showman who can smell a big money maker (not always!) and he's far from stupid.

He's no communist, but of the robber baron ilk IMO. He's Pro2A for himself; and for us as long as we're on his side & he's on our side.

But, because he's a briber, he can be bought.

That factor weighs heavily against Donald T. with me.

Oh yeah....
Incredible discussion guys. I do not just come here for the gun porn.

This is a crazy race which will have everyone jumping until he eleventh hour.

I'm expecting terrorists, riots, media chitstorm who knows?.

Yes and no.

He says he is but I have watched and listened to interviews in his past where he wants some restrictions and supported ban some "assault weapons"

Trump is more of a modertate Dem than a conservative republican.

Trump is a "lesser of two evils" vote, any way you look at it... He's brash and a dickhead but those traits attract him to many voters, especially if they do not like the person he is "picking" on. Will he be better than Bernary Clinters--most definitely! Will you be so disenchanted with him that you WILL NOT VOTE should he become the Republican nominee? I certainly hope not! If you do NOT vote out of principle or whatever reason, then you will be LESS intelligent than than the uneducated, ignorant sheeple that vote Dumpocrap so they can continue to get free stuff. And if you think the words "you are more stupid than the sheeple for NOT voting" are FIGHTING WORDS, then let's go son, I'm ready! ;)

I can see a man in Trump's position previously donating to MANY different politicians and parties. It just makes sense. The chart that Mike the OP posted above has many that are dead or no longer in politics. I'd like to see who Trump has donated to on the R side and more recently--lets see both sides of the coin. Not that it matters because I agree with many supporters that donating to "everyone" is just what you do if you have a ton of money and might need a favor or two down the road.

I do not think Trump is religious at all nor do I "get" why religious leaders or people would endorse him. Any religious-type event must be "staged", IMO. I think his "favorite book" is a copy of "The Art Of The Deal" covered by a sleeve that says "The Bible".

I consider myself "pro-death" and I suspect Trump is to a certain extent. And this does not fly with the teachings and beliefs of many churches. I call myself Pro-choice but Anti-abortion: no MAN (other than the sperm donor) should dictate what a woman does with her body or what is growing in it. Up until the end of the first term, the embryo is not viable (survivable) outside the womb and although I abhor the thought of abortion, if a terminated pregnancy prevents an unwanted, possibly unloved birth, than so be it (up to first term). That said, I do not want abortion to take the place of birth control and contraception should be free and widely available to whomever wants it. Cruz' needs to tone down the rhetoric against PP because it IS losing voters such as me and I do believe they provide more good than bad to citizens who use their services. The whole fetal tissue BS was only a couple clinics in CA and not-widespread--Cruz lost me by making a big deal out of it. I am also not against later term abortion of developmentally-challenged fetuses and tests are done early enough that can determine the status of a developing fetus. My kids were tested at an early stage in their development and my wife and I were willing to terminate if there were issues and fortunately, there were not.

Like Trump, I support Capital Punishment (death penalty). The system needs to be far more efficient, though. 30-40yrs on death row is NOT efficient. Blame farking scumbag lawyers for that one! Appeal after appeal... Mass-killers in the news lately should no longer be living, period...do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not have your face in the news for decades after. I don't believe in "innocent by reason of insanity"--if the body committed the crime, the body must die--put the head in a jar if you want to "save" it... I also don't care if it takes the condemned an hour to die because the concoction isn't "right". Sure, let's give 'em an option: a firing squad or guillotine or even blowing from a cannon are VERY quick and efficient, and I want to watch!

I'm not a big Rubio fan because I don't think it was his "time", he leaves a US Senate seat open, and because he is a lawyer. Same with Cruz. But here is a thought: Trump/Rubio ticket, nominate Cruz for Supreme Court, Carson for Surgeon General, Gowdy for Atty. General, etc., etc. I don't have a problem with Rubio pandering to Latinos at all in their language... We NEED their votes!

PS: But getting back to the OP, I think Trump is on the moderate side regarding the Second Amendment--Cruz is far stronger, IMO. Will Trump be "against" certain guns as he has been in the past? I wouldn't say yes or no. Look for another staged mass-shooting closer to election-time--mark my words and prediction! And how he reacts will show his true colors and we know how Hillard Sandton will react... It does help that his sons are hunters but they may be of the "why do hunters need assault rifles?" camp. I've seen Cruz shooting a gun several times but have get to see Rubio and Trump shooting--do they even own guns or a collection? If so, I want to see. Jeb blew it with his "I don't own a gun" statement. C'mon, gents, show us your arsenals! :D

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that "El Douche" carried my state. Thought that it would have finished: Cruz/Rubio, Trump, Bush.
I am embarrassed for my state.

You ask if Trump or his sons shoot;

Trump himself has a carry permit in New York, I believe his sons do as well.
