Has anyone shot the .338 4x4? I was wanting to know how it was before I went and got one.
That is one thing i am now starting to think about is a muzzle break. Now that i'm reloading for my 338, i can get out and do more shooting now that i'm not paying 65.00/70.00 for a box of ammo. After about 4 shots i have a nice bruise on my shoulder that lasts a week. A Limbsaver recoil pad is supposed to help too.rjpoog1989 said:With the muzzle brake on the .338 has about as much recoil as a 30-06 would normally have. It's very tolerable, which will become even more important as I work out a good reload for the gun. I was actually very surprised at how well the muzzle brake reduced the recoil, as I've heard bad things about other .338 rifles. This, assuming I can get better groups than I've got with factory ammo, has a lot of potential to be a fantastic rifle for elk and moose.
