Caddmann, The new follower is M464; stainless steel. http://www.thesmithshop.com/magfollow.htmlIs the new 464 follower made of aluminum or steel or what?
Thank you Hombre. This means I won't have to make one.
I was just going to make one out of a brass cartridge case of some kind.
That stock follower is a bit of a hokey deal.
Could be but it did not stick to my spring because the plastic was swelled and nothing short of a fish hook would have stuck it to the spring. Even after I swabbed out the tube again it would not slide at all without a push rod of some kind, and to get it out of the pipe I had to stuff 3 round patches on a brush, in to the follower and coax it out of the pipe. After sanding it down it now slides ok. I could do more and will if I have to but now it works.Isn't that just to keep it stuck on the spring?

It was really a simple install and mine did not need polishing, but, I am glad it works smoothly. I noticed a big improvement in mine also. My magazine tube could probably use some spit shine too but while it is workin I won't mess with it.I had my Gunsmith install the stainless follower for me. Worked out very well. He polished the follower and magazine tube before installing it. Nice and slick acting now!!

I had the metal one installed in my 464 and it worked great.
